Stair Tool. Right now I use the stair tool for sections and details and for 3D visualization...but turn off the Stair Layer for construction documents and make my own.

Out of curiousity, which modeling app and which file format would you like to see?

3DS for now, it is the best so far for 3D geometry, no layers though.  I use TurboCAD Pro Platinum version 21.  Powerful stuff, it has the ACIS Solid modeling engine, just not as automated as Chief for Architectural.

I hope CA is listening and will make the necessary updates and fixes to get stairs up to par with other software (Autocad Architecture has had great stairs for the past 10 years) I depend a lot on correct stair representations for our homes, I think this issue alone will be the factor in my decision to switch my architectural team to CA, I will wait for X7 to come out before a final decision
