Mintplanner
Good Afternoon, I am wondering if there is any FREE .pdf writer that keeps all sheet sizes "to scale"...? Today, I graduated from Chief 9.5 to X7 (cha-ching!), and from Windows XP to 7, and I'd rather not pay to upgrade Adobe Writer 6.0 - I didn't care for it much anyway. I don't want any edge banners promoting the free .pdf writer, either. Yes, I want it all! Any suggestions? Tim
Gawdzira
Try FoxIt. I am using it right now. Pretty robust with editing, signing and comments. Printing has looked good so far on both my Brother All In One type printer and HP110p.
TheKitchenAbode
The better free ones that I have found are PDF-Viewer and Nitro Reader. There are quite a few out there, I get most of my freeware from snapfiles.com. Never had any problems with this site and downloads are direct and straight forward. See if one works for you. Mintplanner
I probably should add, I need Arch C and D "to scale" capabilities with the .pdf software. My wish list would include being able to Add and Move pages around from within the .pdf writing software... Tim

I use the pay version of Nitro PDF - it's pretty solid and allows commenting, cloud storage, e-signatures, bookmarking, etc.
TheKitchenAbode
Getting all those features in one for free could be a challenge. There are separate pdf programs for free that allow you to split & merge pdf's. Most of the major free ones including those already mentioned have these capabilities but you have to upgrade (pay). AndyGump
I use PDFill. Great program, lots of free tools but the writer portion is about $30.00. Good price even for cheap bassets. Andy.
lbuttery
I use PDF995 back with ver 9.5 and forward it came with Chief around ver X2 it had to be downloaded from the vendor http://www.pdf995.com/ I haven't tried the new built in version since I am so used to PDF995 so chose one - just about all PDF creators should be able to scale and do large size prints Lew
DianneDSC
http://www.bluebeam.com/us/products/free-viewer/ I use the paid version but the free version has lots of features.
CJSpud
I use CutePDF and think it prints just fine. BlueBeam is nice because you can zoom by using the mouse wheel.
Alaskan_Son
I use Nitro Pro. Not free, but doesn't cost much and well worth the money.
HumbleChief
PDF-Exchange Viewer another freebee I've used for years http://www.tracker-software.com/product/pdf-xchange-viewer
kMoquin
I use bull zip pdf. PDF Split and Merge is freeware that allows you to break apart And reassemble files. I've found issues with scale are nearly always user error most often involving the "fit to page" option
Doug_Park
As far as I know all the PDF printer drivers print to scale when Chief is properly configured. The only issue that comes up is that often people let the PDF viewer scale the printout to fit the paper when they print. This is usually just an option that you uncheck in the PDF viewer.
