Chrisdutch89
Does uploading Windows 10 have any impact on using Chief Architect 5x?

Kiwideziner
That just tells me my upgrade is reserved like it did last week.
DRAWZILLA
They can't possibly offer all of them at the same time, They will space them out. That's why we have reservations.
Kiwideziner
Perry thats why I asked if anybody had seen the upgrade.
Joe_Carrick
Mine is evidently downloading. I have a "Get Windows 10" window on my system that just says "Working on it..." which has been about an hour. I have no idea how long it's going to take. But I'm still able to use the system. jtcapa1
Takes about an hour, and it must reboot a few times.
DavidJPotter
I just finished upgrading to Windows 10 Pro and Chief X7 - X2 run just fine on it. I did manually have to download the newest NVIDIA driver, didn't take long, I like it! DJP

Gawdzira
Don't wait. Download it and go. I just did a web search for windows 10 and what to do and there was a link. X7 is up and running. Some fudging to get my second monitor to be recognized but that was all (so far).
DRAWZILLA
Thanks Gawd, no rush for me. I'll do it over the weekend when I get some free time
Gawdzira
I was out of my office all day. I spent about 20 mins in the morning getting the install downloaded and started. Walked away all day and finished up in about 15 mins when I returned. I did not customize any settings yet.
Rosco2017
Alan, does it delete all of your files when it installs, or does it just leave them alone?
Gawdzira
It keeps files and even the desktop icons. No reinstall of existing programs although I have only started up CA and Firefox so far.
Rosco2017
Sweet! Thank you. I have all the files, but the little icon in the right hand side of my screen says "Okay, notify me when it's ready" Grr! I want Windows 10 Now. Absolutely HATE windows 8.

Kiwideziner
does not look like it is actually available in this part of the world, I just ried a couple of links and got the installation programme but when I ran that it would start and then just say "something happened" which is really intuitive and helpful. Joe_Carrick
I installed on my office system this afternoon. Tried to install the NVidea upgrade so I could access the GPU. It failed so at present all I have is a low res video driver on a small monitor. Not good. My Laptop will have to wait for the rollout schedule to catch up. Steve-C
Windows 10 Download Page So far the Nvidia driver is taking longer to download than the OS did. Of course my crappy internet may have something to do with that. I have been beta testing Windows 10 on my touchscreen laptop and I must say I really like it a lot. Almost enough to forgive MS for Windows
Steve-C
I've been up and running for over 3 hours since the Nvidia driver updates. No problems or glitches, very smooth. It even feels a tad faster but that's probably me being bias (because I love the OS).
