You can still use the Import Function and point Chief X12 to the X??> Patterns Folder and Import the Patterns there into your User Catalog Folder but most of Chief's Patterns were moved into the Core Library>Fill Patterns

Did you try breaking the lower railing and making it Post to Beam under the upper Balcony? M.

Logitech Programmable Mice and Windows 10
Kbird1 replied to BuildingDesigner's topic in General Q & A
Sounds like the Receivers Drivers are not installed properly, check device Manager, I still use the 8.96.88 version of LGS for my G13 as there seems to be less issues than the 9.xx.xx version. The G13 is not a Mouse though.... From an Amazon Review with the same issue.... I don't know if it works as I don't have a G602. Phenomenal mouse with Logitech's usual garbage support and instructions. ("NOT DETECTED" FIX IN THE REVIEW) Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2017 This is a great mouse for at this price point. It's pretty comfortable in the hand and has a good number of programmable buttons. Now for the downside... As soon as you try to install this on a windows 8 (or higher) machine, windows will install it's own generic driver. This renders all of the extra modes and programmable buttons useless. I searched for hours for a solution. I tried different versions of the Logitech software. I read some people were doing fresh installs of windows, just to get the mouse to function, spending hours trying to find registry errors, etc... Don't bother with any of it. It's not going to work. Read on for instructions that work. Go to the control panel>Device manager>[find your mouse]>right click>properties>update driver. When the dialog box pops up, choose "Browse My Computer For Driver Software." Then, click browse and navigate to to where the "Logitech Gaming Software" is located. In the case of a standard install, it will be located in C:\Program Files\Logitech Gaming Software. Finally, click next. Done! It should now be listed as Logitech Gaming Receiver in the device manager. Open the Logitech Gaming Software. You should now be able to use all of the functions of the Mouse now You may need to show it the Drivers Folder in the LGS Folder unless there is a checkbox for "subfolders" to check M. -

my wall material, paint in Room/polyline material list
Kbird1 replied to Petetrigger's topic in General Q & A
Either one only lists what is in the Room ...ie from the surface of the wall drywall inwards.... thought there were some changes in X12 though? hence Eric's suggestion to Check the Ref.Manual I think.... M. -
3D Render - Heavy Pixelation - Wrong Layers Rendering
Kbird1 replied to George1275's topic in General Q & A
It doesn't appear to be Z-Fighting ...to me... I'd suspect a Driver Update to your VideoCard ..the latest is not always the greatest.....perhaps provide more details on the Hardware in use or add that info to your Forum Signature. M. -
If he only has 3 hotkeys then I'd say Chief 's .xml file in the Data Folder is corrupt ( or someone played with it ) as the Default file has 50-60 already setup... there is a copy in C:\Program Files\Chief Architect\Chief Architect Premier X12 (64 bit)\Hotkeys If he wants your HK file there should be no issue export yours and importing into his...... it's just a generic .xml file which PC's and MAC's should both understand with no issues. correct , at least that's how I've always thought about it. So set any Default you want it to be Global (or "Permanent" ie available in every Plan) .... in your Plan Template and make sure that Plan Template is the Preference for New Plans.
-
You can't delete the Exterior Room , it is auto generated by Chief , and I think the others are correct about the Deck Railing being marked "No Locate" by Default, being the likely cause of the issue..... Dermot's method will work to add them... M.

Just Draw the Header ( lintel) in Cross Section and add it to your Library as a Molding 1st.

FOV is the width of the angular view in degree , not the length to the focal point Dz. M.

If the refresh rate on the TV is low it will effect the mouse , most Computer Monitors are at 60 hz minimum , some TVs drop as low as 30, so check your HDMI Settings... M.

I would suggest starting with the Tabloid kitchen and Bath template if you didn't?, it is 11x17 and you can alter it to your Hearts content.... 11x17 Tabloid X10.layout There are a number of Tutorials in the KB as well as several Videos if you haven't looked them over..... however since you have X10 not all maybe relevant as CA is updating a lot of the KB for X12 currently. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/1/creating-a-layout-template.html?playlist=105 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/1/creating-a-layout-template.html?playlist=105 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00737/creating-and-using-layout-templates.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02862/resizing-a-layout-title-block-and-border.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03018/setting-up-layout-template-pages.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03094/creating-a-custom-plan-template-from-an-existing-project.html

Hardware selection - Worth upgrading and what to pick?
Kbird1 replied to PvdPol's topic in General Q & A
I think you'll be happy for 2060 RTX Card when Chief gets around to supporting Directx12 Ultimate/Nvidia's RTX technology ....hopefully in X13..... The prices should be coming down on the 2000 Series Cards since the 3000 Series will release Q3 or Q4 Raytracing is done with the CPU, so the number of Cores helps there ... as for AMD cards I have seen a number of issues lately mostly on Macs with Radeon Cards that were very slow.... If you didn't migrate your Toolbars , you may need to add the Layerset Dropdown Toolbar back to the Toolbars at the top of the screen if you only see the Saved Plan Views Dropdown now? ( it may say Working Plan View by default) M.
-
Apparently yes I don't usually do "work" in Layout so I had never noticed Schedules can't be made in Layout. So I guess that work would need to be done back in Plan then sent to layout. As for a 2D Image ...No , that is not an Option like other Schedules either. However the Revision table it seems to work fine for me.....but maybe I misunderstand the Issue? ........ however if you don't add the Description when you Add the Revision, you then need to use Edit Page Information on each Page to do it , it you add it when you make the Revision it then populates to the assigned pages eg 1-3 or 1-5 etc.... I've been using Advanced System Font Changer since moving to Windows 10 and TenForums also has a good series of tutorials since things changed a lot in Win10 compared to earlier versions of windows. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/112263-change-text-size-windows-10-a.html

Not 1/16th no , at least not me , but on Retro Fit Jobs ordering custom sizes to fit old Openings I regularly Ordered to 1/4" , but your 1/8th Handles that too. Rounding to the nearest inch isn't really a good thing as for eg. 41 1/2" will become 42" etc. Thanks for the new Code too... M.

most of the DBX is Hard Coded , the LH side where the Tabs are is controlled by the Windows 10 Font and Scaling settings.....
-
Run a Repair from the Control Panel>Programs DBX as my guess is there is a corrupt Qt, Registry entry or . INI File somewhere since the RH side of Dialog boxes is Hardcoded it seems to 8pt Text. The LH side does accept Scaling and the Windows Font Sizing/scaling as mentioned above.....
-
Put your Formulae into the Line Item in extra and count Columns removing the default CA macros..... However if you mean can you make these a Default for the Material List , I don't think so , but I think you can update the Line Item to the Master List Maybe able to use the Component DBX as Rob mentioned though for the Line Item.... be quite a bit of Work for a whole project though, perhaps if done in your template plan it maybe saved Per item? M.

Thanks BT , appreciate it.....seems to work nicely.... It will if you change the .round(0) to .round(2) in the Macro, BT has set it up to use Fractions (1/8ths) ( 2nd pic), it could be 16th or 32nd or 64th etc. ( change it as needed) He just didn't set it to use them in this particular case, since round(0) rounds to the nearest whole Inch (integer) up or down per normal..... * Note I have also made a few other minor alterations to the Code , so yours may not look the same.... Mick.
