  1. Magnifique! Magnafic ! ( or is that magnific ?) M.
  2. See if PDF Editor Allows you to "Flatten" the layers...... (makes it non-editable basically) OR maybe it is the opposite problem and 1 is flatten and the other not ? found Online...... To flatten an image open it in Microsoft Edge, select print, set the printer to Microsoft print to PDF and save a copy to your HD. I have found that this method does not work with Acrobat reader or internet explorer. OR from the US Court System..... Follow the steps below to "flatten" a completed PDF fillable form: 1. Open fillable form. 2. Add appropriate data. 3. Right click on document and select Print. NOTE: if document opens in Adobe, Select File and select Print. 4. Select the PDF printer. (The Adobe PDF printer is installed automatically with Adobe Acrobat. Numerous free PDF printer drivers are available for download from the Internet.) 5. Select OK. 6. Specify location to save the printed, "flattened" version of the form. 7. Select Save.
  3. Everyone on the Forum is turning into a Comedian theses days !
  4. Try making the Frame bigger than 1/16 x1/16" perhaps? - in Chief that it practically "invisible" M.
  5. Most don't do Raytrace anymore with the likes of free Twin Motion or D5 Render but Graham's old thread "Lets Raytrace is still available for Help if you haven't seen it ?
  6. As Dermot pointed out I think you are looking at the (P) Saved Plan Views Drop down ( None) not the (L) Layerset Control Drop down , note the P on the Icon vs the L on the icon in the dropdown. Saved Plans Views now control the Annotation Sets ( now called Default Sets in X12 ) and Layersets but if needed you can add those dropdowns back to the Toolbar in X12 via the Customize Toolbars Dialog. You can Import the Saved Plan Views (SPVs) into any old pre - X10 Plans via the Import menu using the Residential Template Plan File from the Chief X12 Templates Folder as a Donor File. ( could use any Plan built in X10 - X12 , but the template file SPVs will be "clean" ) Use Select All and Replace and you should end up with 10 Premade SPVs on the Dropdown that now says None M.
  7. Perhaps try making a copy of that Wall / Fence type but mark the Wall definition as a Partition and see if it stays separate from the stucco Wall. M.
  8. Had an idea reading this thread , I used CS idea and made a 8x8 PL Solid , then Stacked them using multicopy pulling them over a bit while dragging up, ( 3" over 8ft ) then converted that Stack of P-Solids to a Millwork Symbol set as a Panel, and then applied Panel to a Fence with no posts or rails..... seems to work okay And here's the Plan so you can " Break it " I mean have a play yourself...... 9. Thanks for the Report back this info may help others in the future..... M.
  10. There is a Note in today's update that they (may) have patched this issue... cannot confirm as I can't install it again.... 22.3.0.55 Update Notes : chief-architect-x12-update-notes3.pdf
  11. Same Issue again with 22.2.0.55 that came out today..... will report back if the same Fix works... *** it did. The Updates Notes for those that need them..... chief-architect-x12-update-notes3.pdf M.
  12. Not from Google Earth , but it does import DWG , or GPS Data etc in a number of different ways. Some of Chief's Video and KnowledgeBase (KB) articles https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/1931/importing-terrain-elevation-data.html?playlist=101 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/1056/import-a-surveyor-dwg-file-for-a-site-plan-or-terrain-perimeter.html?playlist=101 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00719/importing-terrain-elevation-data-from-a-dxf-or-dwg-file.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01078/using-real-world-elevation-data-to-create-a-terrain.html

Rebooting is usually the 1st thing I do if Chief is acting "weird" and I recommend doing a reboot at least once a day if you normally just let the computer "sleep" instead of actually turning it off each night for example. On the Windows side some people report having to suddenly update their Nvidia Drivers too but I am not aware of anything Mac Related unless there was a MAC OS update lately too? M

Reboot and check if there was a Windows Update or if it needs one.... been several reports last week of similar issues..... M.
  15. The Framing Tools do work , the disadvantage is the different "elements" can't be saved to the library for re-use like a PL Solid can. ( unless something changed in X12? ) M.
  16. I have read that this weeks Microsoft Windows 10 Update is causing printing Issues for some..... Printer Issues Links on Google
  17. Check the Offers forum for a full OLDER version of Chief instead of going with Pro perhaps..... HD Pro plus 2-3 months rental = $900 maybe more?
  18. I did try that after turning the casing off in the Window Object but it didn't seem helpful, it seemed to resize the Sill symbol of mine too somehow.... this is what happens if you leave Casing on and use the system casing you can resize the wall cutout though if need , but with these issues and the Plan view CAD all messed up it maybe not worth it... easier to just drop a sill symbol in and center it on the Window.
  19. Ohhhh doh..... did not think of spinning it around being a "Fixture" not a "Window" And yes Chief makes a mess of it when saving a Window as a Window Symbol as it keeps the Casing attached and cuts the the wall hole that full size to say nothing of the CAD Block debacle ....
  20. Your conversation with Larry got mixed up 1/2 way through - he thought you were asking about the Annotation Set Dropdown ( D.Sets now) he had just added back to the toolbar in X12 ( removed by default ) , the Saved Plan View Control Dropdown is a totally different Dropdown , note the 'P' icon on left of dropdown similar to the 'L'" for layersets or 'D' for dimensions , this makes it as easy as switching Annosets eg straight to electrical or Roof Plan or Framing, AND straight to the floor you want if setup that way. Personally I use it like Chris does ( post above ) with dedicated Annosets and Layerset setup for each SPV (Saved Plan View)
  21. Ahhh I didn't try that ...I just use the Chief window and insert my Sill into it.... BTW your Window Symbol is actually a Fixture Symbol and it inserts into the wall reversed here ie exterior side (Slate color) is on the inside. M.
  22. With the current Sale and what looks like only a $400 difference between an upgrade to x12 Premier or a New X12 Premier License , you could consider buying Premier as a new license and then Sell Interiors ... not sure what Interiors X9 maybe worth though....$500-750? or keep it for an Assistant to use/learn with? There are some post in the Offers forum, though this is X9 Premier I think.... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/22400-x9-license-for-sale-price-drop/?do=findComment&comment=214221 M.
  23. This recent Thread has some info for you..... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/25884-premier-v-interior-in-kitchenbath-field/?tab=comments#comment-207866 M.
  24. Not just Programs, Windows Update also Updates Drivers - if you allow it too - which means the Nvidia ( or Intel or AMD) GPU could be effected too. If you prefer to control it yourself you can disable Windows Update Driver installations - see a tutorial here : https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/48277-enable-disable-driver-updates-windows-update-windows-10-a.html For Nvidia , Geforce Experience will keep the Driver updated, if you don't want to do it yourself. M.
  25. You can make a Window Sill Symbol ( not Window) set to use "Below Opening" and turn off the window sill on the Window itself , you can then set you own Height ( and shape etc. as needed). It is pretty fast to place as it will find the wall and you can center it on the Window quickly with the Center Tool. See Attached plan for an example .......Check the Saved Cameras and Cross Sections.... > You go from a molding profile (you've drawn whatever shape - I did this one in a CS of the Window) > apply it to a molding line > convert to Millwork Symbol (used advance Options to name and set "below Opening" > Open symbol in Library and set symbol Origin Offset ( so it goes through wall to outside ) > Open Object in Library and set Height to bottom eg 32" > Place Symbol in Plan. > Replace Symbol CAD Block with a (1" x 39" in this Plan) CAD Block Rectangle and Resave Symbol to Library. * only down side is symbols don't show well in Cross Sections , so I just use the Molding Profile placed in plan with a Fill.
