You can also setup Filters for each Library ( Blue Funnel with red + icon) --- just look carefully at the DBX and READ IT --- as it works reversed --- at least from my point of view, you hide what you don't want to see , rather than check what you do want to see... M.

Using the Room designated as a Balcony as Ryan suggested seems to allow the Railing wall to auto generate the solid walls Siding to the bottom of the Joists ( floor system) automatically, so there is no need for the P.Solids, and you can set the Balcony Floor structure up just like a Deck, it just won't auto build the framing like a Deck will. I don't think it would be actually built this way ie as a Pony Wall , it was just a way of modelling it in Chief but I am not sure which method ( wall type) Kevin went with in the End ? The Balcony Room with the Railing Wall ( not Pony Wall ) with the Wall Framed at 48" OC , seems to work for me though fairly well. A Combo of all the Tips in this thread? Try adding a 7/16" No Material Opening material ( same as Insulation-AirGap ) back to the Exterior of the Wall , may need to make the P.Solid Siding 1/2" instead M.

If using the Railing with Solid Wall? Frame the Wall with 4x4 at 48"OC ( or whatever center you need) and show Wall Framing . This requires making/copying a Stud (Framing) material.....

Not a bug Chief automatically centers Newels in the width of the wall - and your wall has no siding on the outside .............. who's fault is that M.

In the posts above we discuss and are showing two different Wall types : one is a Pony Wall ( no post to ground ) with a solid wall and a Railing on Top the other is a Railing with the Solid Rail option set (Posts to ground) and the walltype set to the desired exterior Walltype M.

Switching the Railing to Solid automatically turns "generate on lower Platform" Off , so it doesn't work. So the easiest fix is to make your 2 sided Deck wall one sided with no siding on exterior Side and then in elevation apply a 7/16 thick P.Solid with the Siding Material Applied to cover the Wall and Joists. ( WMR would not work here either )

Actually , that trick for fascia Mounted Railings may not work in this case as the Rail in the Case of FM Railing usually have an invisible layer added to them to force the Posts out over the deck edge. Post your Plan.... or a test plan....

I was just joking , I was up early and checking out the Forum...... sounds like the "create on lower platform" check box is un-check in the Railing DBX ...... I have read it's not needed here but that does not always seem to be the case , at least for me. M.

You trying to fill in my Day ? In and elevation camera select the Wall open the DBX , uncheck Railing , ( don't panic) grab bottom of Wall and pull it down to the bottom of the Joists, re-check Railing ( phew) hit Ok Let me know If I missed a step..... it's the same trick used for Fascia Mounted Railings , there are a few posts on that here too. This should do it I think , I just rounded the Header sizes %manufacturer% %automatic_label% (%header_count%) %header_thickness.round% x % header_depth.round% %header_type% HDR In X12 if you use the new Boxed Header , you'd need to multiply the Count by 2 as well ( for 4 pieces) %manufacturer% %automatic_label% (%header_count*2%) %header_thickness.round% x % header_depth.round% %header_type% HDR

I did read a few Days ago that Nahimic updated it's Apps earlier this week , but you may need to check your Laptop's support site as well. If you don't need there Audio Enhancements ( mostly for Gamers ) I'd leave it un-installed though. M.

I'd think you could use a Note Schedule....they are pretty flexible M.
