  1. I ended up installing X12 but had a different issue with the fonts not looking good, but it was readable. I Googled how to change the windows default font and it ended up fixing this problem in Chief X11 and the other problem in X12. https://www.faqforge.com/windows/windows-10/how-to-change-the-default-font-in-windows-10/ I don't know how the default Windows font got corrupted in the first place, but it's good that the problem was solved (though I have to say, editing the registry like that in 2020 seems antiquated (ie. why isn't there some direct way in Windows 10 control panel to just click the font you want....)

  3. I'm on X12 and Windows 10. I just installed X12 this morning BTW so fresh as can be
  4. Now I'm on Chief X12 and have a few font questions.... I'd love to make the typical dialog text a more pleasing font than the one shown (on the left). Also when I tried to look into how to do this in the help file, it comes with everything lined out..... Does anyone have any advice on fixing both things? Thanks! John
  5. Here's a screengrab that shows it. So far, it's only Chief where I notice this. I was using X11 but decided maybe it was time to install X12 So I did that a few minutes ago and don't have the tiny text issue, but I still will see if I can solve that issue in my X11 install...
  6. I've been using Chief for many years but yesterday ran into something I'd never seen. The text in all the dialog boxes became very very small so I can't read anything. The challenge is that when I click on something like "edit preferences" I can read everything fine on the left column of topics, but the right dialog and check boxes etc are very tiny so I can't read the text. Has anyone else experienced this before?
  7. Thanks for the quick feedback. I'm at my other office now but will try these suggestions an let you know what works tonight Regards John
  8. Has anyone else run into this? I'm trying to run X7 after installing X8 beta but windows comes up with an error saying "the program is already running. Running two or more simultaneous sessions is not recommended." ...Anyone have a solution or I may need to uninstall X8 beta for now?
  9. I'm still working in both X5 and X6 for different projects. One thing I find more efficient in X5 is that if I'm going through different objects and wanting to edit the same tab (for instance, I want to select a wall then select "wall specification" then "structure" tab then turn on "go through floor platform"; in X5 this most recently selected tab comes up persistently the next time I select a similar object, so this makes things quick for me to edit. X6 seems to revert back to the first tab when I select a new object so I have to then re-select the "structure" tab every time. This is minor, but over the course of designing a house requires way more mouse clicks etc....Is there a way to set X6 to behave like X5 in this regard? Thanks John
