Never been asked that either and I'm in Calif. As usual all the cities want to milk you for as much money as they can.

are all the walls aligned with the foundation?
-
Just lower the garage floor in the room DBX to whatever aligns with your terrain or just above it to align with your driveway.

528.24 IS ALSO WORKING GOOD FOR ME ALSO

you don't copy to the layout; you use the send to layout button.

Is anyone else having issues with a graphics card warning?

California ADU Solar Requitrements
DRAWZILLA replied to builtright3's topic in Building Codes and Compliance
i think you are correct. for ways around this call my guy, he will tell you exactly what you can do. Barry Hanes =1-714-448-4350 he has been doing my title 24 for many years, since it got too complicated for me to spend time on. -
i run everything stud to stud and add a note so there is no confusion

In the past I have sent floor plans to the layout and in the layout the dimension numbers were missing but the string of lines was still showing. Hasn't happened lately but definitely did happen. The only fix was to resend it. sent it in to t.s. ,but didn't do that for them. might have been something with my system.

2x4 Framed Exterior Walls and Energy Code Compliance
DRAWZILLA replied to GeneDavis's topic in Building Codes and Compliance
we very rarely use 2x6 studs here, but it doesn't get very cold. sometimes I do need a 1" exterior foam insulation to get the model to comply. -
Try to resend it and delete the old view, they may show up. It has happened to me before
-
or just never use plot lines
-
fill has its own eyedropper and paint
-
we are not required to have a top rail here but depending on the local codes, but a base shoe is a must. It all needs to be engineered
-
also, if you want "Egress " in the label, just add the built-in macro to the label.
-
Try these guys, they do glass railing and have all the details and the ICC report. https://fhc-usa.com/ for a seamless look you might check out the base shoe type (achieve model).

Ditto, except it was an apple IIc for me.

Chief Architect Software Licensing Changes
DRAWZILLA replied to Fairhaven_Homes's topic in General Q & A
Lew, I have known you for many years, you were the orginal post leader and you helped many people over those years. I imagine you made lots of money using chief and that's a good thing. we are both getting old and in the scheme of things, is it worth it to you to fight this losing battle with all the headaches and higher blood pressure anyone can get. To me, it's just not worth it. there are more important things in life like family and friends. whatever happens here, you win!!! A few bucks are just that. be grateful we are still doing it. I'll do this until I am in the ground and be happy about it. -
After you put actual floor joists in, that will lower the wall height by the thickness of the floor. You may also need to furr down the ceiling to get the required amount of insulation to fit depending on what climate zone you live. many other things involved, get a pro too help you.

isn't that what I'm saying, we all have attorney friends, and family Chief is not responsible for a change in policy. an agreement to lease or rent a computer program is quite different than an insurance policy. if you know your business.
-
lew, Bad Faith is a legal term which means that Chief would have a fiducary duty to its customers, like an insurance company to its shareholders would have, but Chief does not to us.

I'm in California where the energy calculations can get crazy and has been for the last 30 years and I agree with your statement. We have our own California energy codes unlike anything else so I really can't use export to Rescheck here. I can use some of the info though and it should be correct.
