Max. Stair Riser Height - Builder Question
DRAWZILLA replied to JKEdmo's topic in Building Codes and Compliance
i think about the old days when we had 9" risers for residential. Spiral secondary stairs still have large risers allowable. -
each layer set has line weights for each item, just make them whatever you want. set them once and forgot it.
-
I keep it at 100, I think that is the default, then adjust layer line weights accordingly.
-
I try, sometimes it works.
-
it's not the card, try setting your endcap printed length to 1/32 in preferences / cad section. also, if you change scale, make sure layout line scaling is checked.

how to shift foundation wall between house and porch
DRAWZILLA replied to Jambruins's topic in General Q & A
try making the porch foundation pour#2 in the room dbx. -
winder stairs will follow invisible walls.
-
Yes, I have one and it really does save time.
-
I never use plot lines ever, or cad detail from view. keep it live all the time. great for changes.
-
try vector view or standard view with lines turned on.
-
I haven't noticed any slowness, could you elaborate on that.
-
you can use the rainbow tool , click on any material in you plan, it opens plan then just copy and re-name material.
-
in the materials plan dbx just copy the material and change the name to whatever you want it to be then select that material instead of the standard material chief gives you.
-
you can adjust each roof plane individually to have trusses or rafters. Combo is easy that way.

Alignment of Deck Support Posts with Deck Column Posts
DRAWZILLA replied to buddy21's topic in General Q & A
you have to place the posts and beams manually. -
The new truss tools are so much better than before. All you have to do is set the heel height now and auto build, what extra is that, a couple seconds to set the heel height. overall you save a lot more than that to do a truss roof. I don't mind it at all, just part of the setup.
-
i thought this is a deliberate change because of a lot of complaints about the heal height settings.
-
yes i agree with you, something isn't correct with the truss specs. We never used to have to set the heel height for them, now we do.
-
raise the roof planes up, the walls will follow or add a 2nd floor with no floor.
-
i think it's just the angle you are looking at it, try to bring your camera up higher.
-
Yes ,you need a roof plane and a lower ceiling plane then build with trusses.
-
Is the deck framing layers on in that camera view?
-
I never got used to mine so I gave it to my grandkid, he loves it.
-
yep, forgot about exploding the bay, that works.
