  1. i agree ,I love what Chief did to cad block editing.
  2. nice setup Rene, my problem is that in my old age, and having neuropathy in my fingertips, the mouse with all the buttons just don't work for me anymore, and I sometimes will hit the wrong keyboard keys also, so everything takes me longer to do. I'm waiting for a thought process to be invented. at least my brain still works.
  3. thanks for the info, I just purchased one. I never used hotkeys, but I will use this.
  4. I have and use Rene's kitchen and bath tools and the fireplace tools, take my word for it, you save a ton of time and well worth the money spent.. the setup was pretty easy for me but some others might need further explanation. very happy with it, thanks Rene.
  5. i know Rene creates his own icons and has a video for it on his website.
  6. and if you don't want to drain the bank account, I have a 3060 without any problems
  7. Funny, I have mine set to 250 b/c of the 4k screens. no lag at all, i did notice a little blurriness, but it prints good
  8. I use "eset" for about 15 years now and never had any problems with it.
  9. I see the blurriness but when I actually print it it's perfectly clear.
  10. I don't think Chief will overbuild it automatically with an add on room. You still need to manually overbuild it using roof planes. the new tool is mainly just for the valley board as far as I know. I do these all the time and it would be nice if I asked the roof planes to overbuild automatically and cut off the overhang, and it did. When I draw an as built plan the roof is done on the main structure, and I don't want to rebuild all the roof planes so I must tie in the overbuild manually.
  11. I have been using Joe's site area and other macros for many years now and they work great. you must learn how they work to understand any of it.
  12. i haven't used any slab edge insulation since energy codes were invented, you can get it to qualify without it. My builders just don't like it at all.
  13. you can also make columns from the cabinet tool.
  14. In x14 you can explode the bay windows and treat them just like manually built bays, cool
  15. Change the ridge size to the same as rafter size and it will rebuild correctly. Ridges, ledgers and hips are the same when they should be different DBX's, t hen change the ridge after you turn off auto framing. Chief has been like that as long as I can remember.
  16. sometimes I will use the sub-fascia as the fascia bd.
  17. I usually don't charge any more than my usual s.f. price for exterior embellishments, what I do charge more for is major changes, like "let's move the addition to the other side of the home". I tend not to look at how long it takes me to do as I have always charged by the s.f. with add-ons depending on different things, so everyone knows up front. Win some and lose some.
  18. In that situation I always put a Smaller scoop footing between the new and old, draw the footings as a box, then move the footing between the new and old right up against the old footing. this has been around forever.
  19. I am finding that the window on the main screen, the aldo always changes for me, but the lib. and project browser on my 2nd monitor always stay the same
  20. I never said it was the best card I just said it works for me. at the time I got it I had to pay 1300 for it, just didn't want to pay any more. It's actually pretty fast for me.
  21. What I like about the remodeling aspect is you can reference the existing plan on your elevations, and it will show existing window and door locations that you might seal up on the elevations, show the patch area.
