  1. i always have a second floor in my templates and even have a box second floor plan in my template plan . It makes it easy to delete if I don't need a 2nd floor. I would rather delete than add.
  2. or if you need the upper wall, make the upper wall invisible
  3. We used to be able to adjust the footings independently a few versions back, but now you can't very easily. not sure why it went away. It was really easy to manipulate the footings for pads etc.
  4. also those end walls really should be balloon frame thru ceiling, no separate attic walls.
  5. You can also add a transparent fill to the upper roof planes and adjust the transparency level so the bottom roof planes will have a lighter color line when under the upper roof planes.
  6. I think different resolutions between machines is the problem, this problem has been around forever and Chief is working on it.
  7. open the text string and close and that should fix it.
  8. change your existing house framing wall layer, in all existing walls, in the wall DBX to air gap and not framing. in all new walls leave the framing in.
  9. Battered walls is just something Chief does not do yet, you can add p-solids to get the look but in my opinion it's just too much trouble and extra time to do so I stay away from those projects.
  10. try opening the text style to adjust it, if you haven't already done so.
  11. check your text style setting in the correct layer those fixtures are on.
  12. https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/4431034496809278039 if anyone wants to have a free live class about glass railings, follow the link to sign up for a seminar, March 20th, all about them including code requirements. direct from the manufacturer. F.H.C.
  13. Add the area macro to the label of the driveway and make sure polyline labels are turned on
  14. Another reason might be a loss of room definition specifically an exterior wall. Make sure all walls are connected properly.
  15. yes just set your roof planes as high as you need them the studs above the ceil. jsts will generate for you with attic walls on automatic
  16. I do it like Scott, if it's too big to fit on an arch d size then I just use a larger page size. of course, if the buildings are too far apart then I would draw them in separate plans.
  17. Yes but is there a manufacturer out there that has curved hardware for the glass.
  18. Make sure that glass wall is marked as a partition wall, check the box in the wall definition DBX.
  19. set the heel height to 3.5" or the depth of your bottom cord
  20. You are correct, you must check all framing as framing or it won't show up.
  21. Did you frame the foundation? or set to auto frame.
  22. Here in California the required 2x4 or 2x6 is what the project as a whole calc.s out to. Mostly new construction goes with 2x6 exterior walls but it all really depends on what climate zone you are in and does the whole project as a whole calc out to work with 2x4 walls or not. Most of the time with additions I can use 2x4 walls with r-15 insulation, it really depends on windows and what's inside that matters.
  23. Or make that wall balloon through ceiling.
  24. One thought is to make sure that the C.J. framing in the room DBX is checked as default, and the default C.J. is checked framing.
  25. here "green" means energy efficient, so a reflective color roof would be inn order .
