DRAWZILLA replied to Samia2024's topic in General Q & A
You should use reference layers to see anything not on the current floor, go to chief's website and watch the videos -

make sure you turn on the monitors first then start your computer. I have a similar setup. it always starts on the left one first then switches to the right. Mine are also set to the same resolution and 4k

try to open the material and change the line color to black, and increase the weight.

DRAWZILLA replied to Larry_Sweeney's topic in General Q & A
I have drawn many plans in X16 without any problems a lot of them were brought forward from x15 preliminary plans. -

Is There a Way To Set Second Floor Defaults Without a Second Floor?
DRAWZILLA replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
i always have a second floor in my templates and even have a box second floor plan in my template plan . It makes it easy to delete if I don't need a 2nd floor. I would rather delete than add. -
or if you need the upper wall, make the upper wall invisible

We used to be able to adjust the footings independently a few versions back, but now you can't very easily. not sure why it went away. It was really easy to manipulate the footings for pads etc.
-
also those end walls really should be balloon frame thru ceiling, no separate attic walls.
-
You can also add a transparent fill to the upper roof planes and adjust the transparency level so the bottom roof planes will have a lighter color line when under the upper roof planes.

I think different resolutions between machines is the problem, this problem has been around forever and Chief is working on it.

open the text string and close and that should fix it.

How to exclude existing house framing from an addition framing schedule.
DRAWZILLA replied to MCCCcc's topic in General Q & A
change your existing house framing wall layer, in all existing walls, in the wall DBX to air gap and not framing. in all new walls leave the framing in. -
Battered walls is just something Chief does not do yet, you can add p-solids to get the look but in my opinion it's just too much trouble and extra time to do so I stay away from those projects.
-
try opening the text style to adjust it, if you haven't already done so.
-
check your text style setting in the correct layer those fixtures are on.

How do I display the sqft total coverage of a driveway object?
DRAWZILLA replied to cbucks's topic in General Q & A
Add the area macro to the label of the driveway and make sure polyline labels are turned on -
Another reason might be a loss of room definition specifically an exterior wall. Make sure all walls are connected properly.
