Polyline Area in Schedule with Percentage Macros
DRAWZILLA replied to buzzsaw204's topic in Seeking Services
I have been using Joe's site area and other macros for many years now and they work great. you must learn how they work to understand any of it. -
you can also make columns from the cabinet tool.
-
In x14 you can explode the bay windows and treat them just like manually built bays, cool

Change the ridge size to the same as rafter size and it will rebuild correctly. Ridges, ledgers and hips are the same when they should be different DBX's, t hen change the ridge after you turn off auto framing. Chief has been like that as long as I can remember.
-
sometimes I will use the sub-fascia as the fascia bd.

I usually don't charge any more than my usual s.f. price for exterior embellishments, what I do charge more for is major changes, like "let's move the addition to the other side of the home". I tend not to look at how long it takes me to do as I have always charged by the s.f. with add-ons depending on different things, so everyone knows up front. Win some and lose some.

In that situation I always put a Smaller scoop footing between the new and old, draw the footings as a box, then move the footing between the new and old right up against the old footing. this has been around forever. -
I am finding that the window on the main screen, the aldo always changes for me, but the lib. and project browser on my 2nd monitor always stay the same

Will this computer configuration work well with X14?
DRAWZILLA replied to Ed_Orum's topic in General Q & A
I never said it was the best card I just said it works for me. at the time I got it I had to pay 1300 for it, just didn't want to pay any more. It's actually pretty fast for me. -
What I like about the remodeling aspect is you can reference the existing plan on your elevations, and it will show existing window and door locations that you might seal up on the elevations, show the patch area.

Are 3D Solids Created in a Section View Intended To Be Uneditable?
DRAWZILLA replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
thanks Larry, I didn't know that, or it could be a bug -
I have always used two separate plans 1 for existing as-built and the other for the existing plus new. Just copy the as-built plan and re-name to new, then use the as-built as a reference plan under the new plan then when you remove any wall the as -built will show up automatically. just make sure the as built plan has is own layerset showing what you want to show.

I print at 300dpi using Adobe DC pro and every job is 50 to 100mb, so I have to use Adobe cloud service to send links instead of plans
-
make sure the "0" page, template sheet is not included in the mix and not the first page. to do this just uncheck "included in page layout" in the page info.
-
Larry, I have been doing the same since the beginning of time
