  1. fill has its own eyedropper and paint
  2. we are not required to have a top rail here but depending on the local codes, but a base shoe is a must. It all needs to be engineered
  3. also, if you want "Egress " in the label, just add the built-in macro to the label.
  4. Try these guys, they do glass railing and have all the details and the ICC report. https://fhc-usa.com/ for a seamless look you might check out the base shoe type (achieve model).
  5. Ditto, except it was an apple IIc for me.
  6. Lew, I have known you for many years, you were the orginal post leader and you helped many people over those years. I imagine you made lots of money using chief and that's a good thing. we are both getting old and in the scheme of things, is it worth it to you to fight this losing battle with all the headaches and higher blood pressure anyone can get. To me, it's just not worth it. there are more important things in life like family and friends. whatever happens here, you win!!! A few bucks are just that. be grateful we are still doing it. I'll do this until I am in the ground and be happy about it.
  7. After you put actual floor joists in, that will lower the wall height by the thickness of the floor. You may also need to furr down the ceiling to get the required amount of insulation to fit depending on what climate zone you live. many other things involved, get a pro too help you.
  8. isn't that what I'm saying, we all have attorney friends, and family Chief is not responsible for a change in policy. an agreement to lease or rent a computer program is quite different than an insurance policy. if you know your business.
  9. lew, Bad Faith is a legal term which means that Chief would have a fiducary duty to its customers, like an insurance company to its shareholders would have, but Chief does not to us.
  10. I'm in California where the energy calculations can get crazy and has been for the last 30 years and I agree with your statement. We have our own California energy codes unlike anything else so I really can't use export to Rescheck here. I can use some of the info though and it should be correct.
  11. For me, I just took a couple of in person Chief courses at a city near me for a couple of weekends. That and this forum and all the wonderful friends here was all it took, especially my friend Scott Hall who is the king of the workarounds. we were in the classes together. that was back in 2005 because we fought hard to help with the development of Chief, we don't need those workarounds anymore. I think your best bet is right here after you understand how Chief works. Worked for me.
  12. All I see here is a lot of everyone guessing on what will happen in the future. No one really knows at this point. We should all just cool it until we know for sure. Only thing we know is that some prices will change. For me nothing changes yet.
  13. So, if you already own Chief, nothing changes. I don't see any problems at this point until chief changes that. New chief sales just have to suck it up and charge accordingly.
  14. carefully adjusting the colors and printing in grayscale can be quite good and less expensive to print. the lighter the color, the lighter the gray line can be.
  15. you know what it said 525 earlier today when I checked, and now it says 595. I looked in the buy/ renewal tabs
  16. I think our existing license has no change as long as you pay the ssa on time, but once you don't pay on time, you cannot pay later, and you must switch to another account. that's the way I read it.
  17. I have been using liquid cooling for about 20 years now, luckily no problems.
  18. I have a remarkable 1 for all my field notes and measurements and love it, no paper needed ever, and its all stored on the cloud. Also prints in pdf.
  19. i actually like the stream deck much better than finding the tools in a toolbar or dropdown, less clicks for me for sure.
  20. I did try using a Disto and room planner several times, it took me 3 times as long to measure, not for me either. But it was good to transfer it directly into Chief. Room planner had no way to take the outside measurements also.
