I realize I can go through and change every header to get what I need but there is no way to do it easily and chief actually makes it harder and more time consuming than it needs to be. I will usually draw the as-built first than change all my defaults to draw the new design--new vs, existing. When changing the (n) vs. (e) all the window header labels will change to new, even the existing ones. So I can't use the header default labels. I must always have that unchecked unless using a macro like Scott Hall shows earlier. I guess Michael doesn't have one. Does Joe Carrick have one?

when doing a second floor over existing there are some point loads bearing on the existing headers all the time, so we need to install a new header there. pretty simple happens all the time

no, what Dermot shows is the hardwired automatic label . What shows is to much info for the plan view. I just want "4x6 hdr and what type of lumber PSL--LVL . I know you can create a label to show that but not the default and non-default labels at the same time and of course new and existing.
-
so Dermot, what you show doesn't work for me as I need the nominal size not the automatic label in all labels new and existing.

The 3060 comes out at the end of the month for $395 ,at least they say.

I AM LOOKING ALSO, BUT GOOD LUCK FINDING A 3000 SERIES NVIDIA CARD ANYWHERE RIGHT NOW. The 3060 will be available at the end of Feb. for $395.00 at least that's what they advertise.

I just wish we could just adjust the start and end indicators and not every label in the plan

Thanks Buddy

Anyone know what setting makes the s&f larger, they are awful small
-
Yes, but in Michael's example, the water heater is assessable from the hallway not the bedroom.

Don't forget you will need some combustion air for that equip. Maybe through 100 s.i. vents above the doors. laundry and equip room doors

Was expecting more from X13 sneak peak from 2D Elevations Webinar
DRAWZILLA replied to Michael_Gia's topic in General Q & A
Dermot, is there some reason why X13 is going to be later than usual this year? Are you going back to 18 month releases as it was many years ago? Just curious -
that tool still exists in X12

No NDA yet. I remember when beta started in sept.

They are also everywhere here in Calif. I have one in just about every job I draw in remodeling. These days the codes won't let us extend them up anymore, the engineers won't calc. it out , so we have to tear them out and rebuild using a no chimney gas only fireplace in a stucco enclosure.

It hasn't started yet for anyone for some reason.

Rich is actually an Alien, Scott is that right, I'm not sure.

try to rebuild the attic wall or make the main wall balloon frame. I like to leave auto rebuild walls on until I need to turn it off..

Room Ceiling Height Label as a Separate Layer
DRAWZILLA replied to designergy's topic in General Q & A
I have a text box with macros for ceiling height and floor height and other info in that box, then you just copy the whole thing wherever you want. -
I also updated my driver to the dec 15th version without any problems but I also have a different setup than you do.

Foundation walls are just like regular walls, just add a stone layer to the outside of the wall

I have been using my own joist direction markers because Chiefs are just too limited and always have been. I really don't like showing the actual joists in the plan, they are wrong a lot of the times and I don't want to spend a lot of time fixing then
-
I've done parallel for over 45 years. Now you know one, I know very few who does it perpendicular.

just having to fix thousands of stairs manually again and again
