  1. It seems to me that you can use different layersets to create different views of the same floor, then send each one to the layout.
  2. I think it has something to do with autopay, they put me on autopay ,but not until feb. 1st. but I wanted to pay now so I called Chief , they took me off autopay and then I could pay whenever I wanted to pay. I have never liked autopay With 13 grandkids I might not have any money left after Christmas to pay the SSA.
  3. no I just started with a lower price ,then upgraded a few things as needed. saved a few bucks
  4. larry you can upgrade to the 12th gen. in an r-12
  5. Chief did tell us when X13 got released, X14 would be on time.
  6. for me, this is a very good upgrade even without the real time raytracing, the edit cad blocks without exploding them is a huge time saver, save as template is also huge for starting new plans based on old plans similar to the "Save as method" in the old days. Many other good new features make it worth it.
  7. i got the r-12 with upgraded drives ,CPU, 32gb and just a standard 1660 video card b/c I already have a 3060. In have been using 2- 4k monitors for quite a while now without any problems, you can adjust the size of things in windows or nvidea control panel, or Chief itself. I like the 4k for good resolution for renders.
  8. just got my SSA renewal, went to pay it but apparently it wasn't ready to pay yet, so I was wondering if X14 will be available 2-1-22 as usual except for last year.
  9. I also just ordered a new Alienware but don't get it until next month.
  10. California is fickle for sure; I work in around 50 different cities here and they are all somewhat different especially in the zoning codes. The California building codes are also different than the ICC codes. The more plan checks you go through here, the better you will get. You can get them free on the internet in pdf form, so you can add exact text to your plans. Good luck
  11. Larry, I always leave all the auto framing on until the very final phase when I need to make some modifications to it. I just don't see those long delays and my computer is getting old and just ordered a new one.
  12. Larry is there anything running in the background while you are working? your specs look ok to me. Do you have lots of complicated railings? I do try to stay with intel processers I7 or I9 and always have. Good luck, I can see why you are going crazy.
  13. i have been building the second floor up on a 4x8 block up on top of the existing c.j. , double block between the ceiling joists I have been doing this for 40 years now. The framers love it b/c you create a duct space and room for large beams when needed. manother plus is new floor is not a part of the ceiling , so no sound transmission . The clients I work with want nothing to do with trusses of any kind. extra time is most of the reason. After the block up you have approx. 18" to work with
  14. Sorry I don't have that one but solver is correct
  15. i have asked that this be fixed for many years, we need Chief to give us separate ridge and ledger edit boxes. Right now I just put the ridge in with the roof beam tool and leave the ridge the same size as the rafters. Edit. also need a way to have ,or not have, a fascia on any selected roof plane edge.
  16. It's now called plumbing fixtures.
  17. I would also crank up the exposure to around 70 and add 20 to the saturation and brightness
  18. 300 for me but test out different resolutions to see if that helps.
