X12 Skylight into Window Schedule or Custom Schedule
DRAWZILLA replied to IvanCyr's topic in General Q & A
maybe we should call him hot lips Joe. -
Out here in the land of fruits and flat lots, I don't get a lot of sloped lots, but when I do, I just don't show anything below grade, cover all that in the sections. Also place my cameras outside the lot perimeter and use a dirt material for the skirt.

Am I missing something or can't you just create an elevation layerset and make the footing and foundation walls a dotted line for that layerset.
-
I use the invisible rail deck tool on the 2nd floor. You can adjust all the settings and the posts are automatic if set up correctly. Create a 2nd floor if you don't have one.

The only problem with Chief pdf is the large file size it creates.

I have often said that ridges, valleys, ledgers really need their own DBX. to adjust them individually . right one the ridge and the ledgers are the same, that's just wrong. edit; add hips to that list ,around here every hip is a beam.

yes, I guess that's what I was doing. Thanks buddy

Scott, I know we used to be able to control line weights through the layersets, for sure did we lose this capability ? Didn't notice.

Anyone Using Digital Submissions In Your City?
DRAWZILLA replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
Orange county, California does all digital submittals now, good thing is it saves you a ton of travel time, bad thing it takes longer to check but a lot of time is saved, they even put their marks on the PDF and send it back to you. They even digitally stamp the final set, this also saves you lots of money printing. -
I have always used live views for everything, I really don't want to guess if things are updated or not. If you need to fix or add lines , do it on the live view, not on the layout.

Preserve a Window Through A Wall Type Transition?
DRAWZILLA replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
I would move the walls first, then add the window. The reason the window disappears is that you are moving the wall after. -
yes it's new this year, they measure the drop-off differently
-
I noticed you have an unusual amount of plan views open at the same time, you could try and close most of them and see if that helps.

I'm sometimes run into this, what gets me through is I tell them I do not have an electrician yet and can have him come in for the electrical permit at a later time with the electrical .loads done by a licensed electrician. And you really don't want me doing it.

THAT WALL MIGHT BE REGENERATING automatically with auto attic walls turned on, you might not want to delete it just turn attic walls off in final view sent to the layout.
-
open the walls dbx and uncheck attic wall then delete it or turn off attic walls
-
I haven't noticed that, thanks, they snuck it in.

How to set overall height of pony wall in bathroom
DRAWZILLA replied to sweetmelissa's topic in General Q & A
adjust the shower wall exactly how you want it ,then save the wall to the lib. for future use. The materials can always be changed later. -
