  1. ! use ceiling planes for dropped ceilings, I need the framing that can be created in any direction.
  2. Steve, your videos are top notch also, enjoy every one of those, As long as I have been around, you would think I know everything, but no!!!!!, I'm always learning every day and it doesn't ever stop.
  3. What I enjoyed with Scott's videos was the fact there were laughs and , I actually like seeing the path to getting to the final solution including the frustrating parts so I don't make that mistake. I know he did thousands of them. I enjoyed my Saturday morning funny's . Scott and I did a couple of Chief training sessions in San Diego in 2005, great guy in person also. A few years ago we also attended the Simi- annual user meetings--Great times for sure.
  4. I love them to much, not using them is out of the question
  5. Not here, lumber is one of the most expensive in the home. Framing is also one of the most expensive things.
  6. My son built a large commercial building in New York and he had to pay someone many thousands of dollars just to build it or there could be trouble. He said that's the way it is in that area.
  7. I recently went to a 4k monitor and Chief messed with all my blocked text like that, not sure why though, not fun
  8. Check for an updated mouse driver or video card drivers. You can also try to use the standard Microsoft mouse drivers.
  9. I actually don't remember where I got it but it was a while back
  10. I use X12, let me see if I have it in X11 yes here it is fireplace wall vent.calibz
  11. here is one fireplace wall vent.calibz
  12. most cities and county's around here are 2019 codes including 2019 energy and California Green codes. I downloaded my free copies.
  13. It might be in the code but I haven't seen it enforced around here. Gee someone might fall out that window, very dangerous. I don't think my head would fit.
  14. Sorry joe , I read it and deleted it, but it was listed with the download.
  15. Joe the list was with the download as a separate item
  16. the plan checkers probably want the plans to be inline with the energy calcs.. North, South etc.
  17. no, you need to place the item in the plan, then change the cad block associated with that electric symbol to add existing. then change the label to what you want it to say..Add the changed item to your lib. for future use.
  18. Good luck finding someone with all those quality's.
  19. Around here, I have done over 4000 additions over 45+ years, and at least for 30 of those years I have needed all existing interior and exterior walls to be shown. I deal with about 50 cities so they vary in the amount of detail needed. A lot of the time we need to brace existing walls for earthquake. also we must show existing for all the energy requirements also needed on every job.. Sounds like fun doesn't it?
  20. It's not?? look at this terrain DBX in X11
  21. also make sure your room divider wall is not checked as invisible
  22. yes, your grade setting in the terrain DBX should be a minus number (-4) if that's what you want it to be.
  23. If you call it a balcony, it will give you a floor system just like a room
  24. Chief just doesn't do that, you cannot add a skylight to the window sched, it would be good if you could though.
