No NDA yet. I remember when beta started in sept.

They are also everywhere here in Calif. I have one in just about every job I draw in remodeling. These days the codes won't let us extend them up anymore, the engineers won't calc. it out , so we have to tear them out and rebuild using a no chimney gas only fireplace in a stucco enclosure.

It hasn't started yet for anyone for some reason.

Rich is actually an Alien, Scott is that right, I'm not sure.

try to rebuild the attic wall or make the main wall balloon frame. I like to leave auto rebuild walls on until I need to turn it off..

Room Ceiling Height Label as a Separate Layer
DRAWZILLA replied to designergy's topic in General Q & A
I have a text box with macros for ceiling height and floor height and other info in that box, then you just copy the whole thing wherever you want. -
I also updated my driver to the dec 15th version without any problems but I also have a different setup than you do.
-
Foundation walls are just like regular walls, just add a stone layer to the outside of the wall
-
can't find it , so how did you do it?

I have been using my own joist direction markers because Chiefs are just too limited and always have been. I really don't like showing the actual joists in the plan, they are wrong a lot of the times and I don't want to spend a lot of time fixing then
-
I've done parallel for over 45 years. Now you know one, I know very few who does it perpendicular.

just having to fix thousands of stairs manually again and again
-
The problem is that handrails need a wall to generate correctly. . Notice there is no wall above the sink. It shouldn't be that way but it has been that way forever. If you take a camera view there you will see the stairs, just open

most Law enforcement will not arrest anyone in violation Scott I remember many years ago we could make our own invisible material that wouldn't show up in vector view but chief changed something along the way. we mainly used it for eaves when using sub-fascia to reduce the overhang size and wanted to see the rafter tails.

Lowered ceiling doesn't look right from the sides
DRAWZILLA replied to mgianzero's topic in General Q & A
I do just as Scott does also -
It's just one of those problems that just waste time and most of the time I have to set some play time to fix. I do notice the less of those joists direction arrows you use the better it gets, kind of like terrains--less is better and never 2 of the same direction in the same area. I know if anyone can figure it out you can.

Attic Ventelation Calculation?
DRAWZILLA replied to ACADuser's topic in Building Codes and Compliance
I always spec "ohagins vents . They go on the roofing and gppd for fire areas--no eave vents https://ohagin.com/products/#:~:text=O’Hagin patented attic vents for tile roof applications, vent (subflashing) and a profile-specific secondary vent (cover). -
I haven't had to do that yet but then again all my ADU's are separate detached buildings

Monolithic foundation adding to total square footage
DRAWZILLA replied to 5Design's topic in General Q & A
foundations are just rooms like the floor plans, just select the foundation rooms and check do not include in living area or schedule -
Chief has had many construction people on staff over the years.

Didn't you say you couldn't wet set in your post?
-
I'm in California and we wet set anchors on every job. you really should wet set all holdowns bolts also, although you can drill them in after, You will need a special inspection with each hole you drill --costly.
