  1. having a plan and layout already configured is a must for saving a lot of time. I have been doing that for 15 years using Chief.
  2. I would have just made the entry a room and set the ceiling height all the way up to what you need there.
  3. Check your file associations and open with settings. I have never seen that.
  4. I show the 1st floor roofs in a reference layerset as dotted so it's a little bit easier to make since of it.
  5. Some of us just don't want to use cad from view b/c it's not updatable I never use any cad within the plan. For me only details are cad.
  6. Steve, get used to nodding off, the older you get , more nodding just happens, then you wake up in Oz.
  7. try changing the exposure setting.
  8. I would user a railing wall ( post to beam). for that.
  9. I also have the MX3, did you download and install the Logitech options drivers for that mouse? I have those buttons turned off, I just don't use them.
  10. Just don't leave the plan with them, and come back to show them whenever they want to see it or pay you for your time.
  11. don't forget that solar panels are required for a.d.u's in California
  12. already knew all that ,all I'm trying to say is an easy way to copy a cad detail for future use, just forgot to say block it first. I have thousands of details in my lib. Never a problem
  13. yes I have also seen this and not sure why it's happening, please send it in to tech support.
  14. or place the cad detail in your lib. and get it anytime you want to.
  15. As with anything, the devil is in the details, that connection should be referenced to a detail, don't worry about getting the model perfect, which cannot be done without spending too much time doing it.
  16. Sorry but I am not sure what you are saying, the walls will always go to the roof plane, depending on the roof plane height, which is the plate height plus the rafter height going straight up
  17. did you verify all your baseline heights are correct for the roof and ceiling planes?
  18. are floor surfaces turned on in camera view?
  19. 2 walls can occupy the same space if one wall is marked as no room def. Just draw the railing wall and slide it into place.
  20. leave your garage slab as is and manually add a slab to be level with the curb. You will se both in section view
  21. try to thicken up your roof material or your model is too far from absolute zero
  22. for the landing, like Michael said earlier , post the plan so someone could play around with it to see for sure rather than guessing.
