  1. Sometimes a refresh is needed before you see it. O.O.B. F5
  2. I may be wrong on this but I think you would group select them in plan or 3d view and change the material to the individual boards... @joey_martin Am I correct that is how you did it?
  3. You are also able to do a custom profile and store it in your user library and set your casing to that style. Lots of craftsman style profiles in the standard library as well.
  4. As mentioned in your other post try the magic F1 key and searching the help file. Although you may not have all of these tools in HDP. Try looking for the answers with the https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/forum/5-qa/ hometalk forum which is designed for Home Designer Pro.
  5. Try the help search feature in the program. Michael gave you the key word to search for. F1 is a magic little key.
  6. You will probably need to add a picture of your wall definition at least but it is probably best to upload your plan file so we can see what needs to be changed.
  7. It doesn't know what those rooms are. Specify the attic space and then run plan check. Label pops up no problem.
  8. Model in another plan, 4 seperate 8" levels with 4 seperate walls set back 2" on each course, make into a symbol and import to original plan???
  9. Mark has WAY more experience than me on this but I don't have an issue as well. Could it be that you are trying to do it in another view other than vector? it wont show the lines in standard view for example.
  10. That is generally when the wall is balloon framed instead of having a gable wall.
  11. Was so expecting to see the second comment say: at midnight... Chief keeps our lives interesting at least!
  12. Very sorry to hear you are dealing with that! All the best to you and your entire family. Safe travels.
  13. You install it separately. But there is a guide with the download that will help you with switching over. Worth the read.
  14. She is saying she heard that it was causing issues. I remember reading the same comments that she talked about and I even had them but they were not full crashes. There was a glitch for about two days where a certain (first or second update of x12 had an issue with Mac systems (which is why I had them) that would crash when pulling a certain view (don't even recall what it was but it was traced very quickly to a mac system update that was at the same time.) Don't remember who fixed it apple or Chief but it was short lived and not a major issue as there was a work around once we figured out what it was. I wasn't a beta tester but have used it since day 1 of SSA release without any other issues. And to add it is heads and tails one of the best updates to chief and extremely stable.
  15. I like it. Just an observation though. I would guess this would make the AHJ move this as a possible duplex to a duplex although there is no kitchens in the other rooms. Renaming it breezeway to "outdoor Family room", or "screened Family room" miggggghhhtt help? Cool idea though. My in-laws live in North Central North Carolina and the AHJs up there are very lenient.
  16. It looks like you may have an error with your wall definitions. But as mentioned above we do not have enough information to help you. Post the plan for best results.
  17. You need to save it to your user library and open the 2d symbol and make sure the 2d symbol recreate button is checked that will recreate the symbol in the 2d. I would recommend while you are at it have one vertical and one horizontal copy in your user library as well as any fittings you need to rotate.
  18. Didn’t you have this same question last month? Figure out what your absolute heights are for grade and for your top landing open the ramp and set it to those heights. ADA in Texas is serious as any commercial job requires an ADA certified independent inspector to inspect and certify for occupancy. If I remember right it is 1:12 slope with max 30” height increase before having a landing.
  19. Didn’t you ask this the other day in another post? Or am I misunderstanding your question? I believe Erick @solver answered that you can use the ducting in the library and simply rotate the symbol...
  20. Wall heights are automatically controlled by your ceiling heights. Why don’t you try; floor 1 to the bottom of your upper arch then your 2nd floor the height of those walls. Open to below. 1st floor as a porch with open railing or invisible and place your columns manually...
  21. Try using the temporary hide tool to get to it.
  22. Can you see it in 3d? That was what I originally tried to do and make the 2d symbol my dashed lines. Even made the light not show up in schedule and really small but then it would show weird in 3d. Tried setting it to opening no material but it still made it look bad in 3d. Probably a way to set it up in the ceiling come to think of it...
  23. Never seen that style of construction before. Just tilt up your trusses and throw some LP siding on it good to go!
