  1. I would recommend reading what I wrote above.
  2. Have you taken a cross section or a elevation view? Try in that view type? Also this could be a version issue so please fill out your signature so we can give you proper advice based on what software you are using.
  3. Behind your image you can see that the entire building is selected which means that one of your exterior walls is probably either disconnected or set as a non room defining type. Best would be to post in Q&A section, Put your signature on the post so we can see what version and what hardware you are dealing with, and most likely post a plan file after closing chief first.
  4. At this link. At least that worked for me last night when I watched it.
  5. If you register for the webinar after it is done the recording is available right away.
  6. Looks good. Btw you put up two of these threads. You may consider deleting the other one to keep everything clean.
  7. Try changing it to 0” from finished floor instead of subfloor. interior doors are not generally placed on the subfloor IRL they are held up for soft finishes or installed after hard surfaces mostly. This is trying to be installed below the finished floor surface.
  8. On the foundation level frame your floor if you setup your joists properly you could even auto frame it but most likely manually placing the 4x4 or 4x6 skids under the joists would do it.
  9. Try using the spray can, select under library the check box in bottom left corner that says default settings, make sure the spray can is set for object specifically then spray that cabinet to see if it fixes the problem.
  10. If you change the thickness of that wall in general it will create a new wall type. I.e. exterior-4 if you change to 6” thick it will become a new type called exterior 4.2. as far as what you are saying about it not being in your plan my guess is that it is the exterior wall default setting as I believe it is oob when starting with chief’s template.
  11. Pretty sure reversing the center wall would work as well once they are cut.
  12. Need more info of how you are trying to do it. Glenn shows it works above. Note you need to break it in two sections and if you don’t change something at that point it will rejoin. At that point you can change the main side of the wall to keep it from auto joining.
  13. Select it in plan view and try the 3 key or wall break tool.
  14. Your roof heights are adjusted manually so it is conflicting. Didn't have much time to play with it but setting auto roof back on fixed it instantly but then you have an issue with your roof over your garage intruding into the upper windows. I believe the issue is you are lowering that attic roof over the garage so it doesn't hit the windows which we know can be done in real life but chief works as boxes so it is saying these boxes are this high and that is why the roof goes there. I believe you will need to change your floor system for that part of the second floor and then lower your ceiling height on the garage so the trusses go over the top of the plate.
  15. Hard to tell how to advise you as we are unsure of what software you are using and what hardware, please add that information to your signature as the answer given for your question almost always depends on that information. Another recommendation is a brief search which will many times answer your question. Now assuming you are using the latest Chief Architect Premier or Interiors X12 or even a recent Xversion (any other software has their own forum specific to that software)this quick search brought up this video which should explain on how to use the layout. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/48/creating-layouts-and-construction-documents.html Hope this helps, and please take the advice about the signature to heart as it really is very important to have filled out.
  16. Didn't look at @Chopsaw's video but maybe turn off shadows?
  17. Not a Mac thing for sure. Just not obvious to new users on how to add the image.
  18. Probably a style palette. Normally you can change it with your defaults but sounds like you may have already changed all the windows to a different color. If they are a unique color you can use the spray color to set it back to defaults then change the default to black.
  19. You have dimensions already in the plan and if that layer is turned off when you try to pull up temporary dimensions it will show the dimensions you already have. Sounds like maybe you clicked auto dimensions possibly more than once. Erick is giving you solid advice here on how to fix it.
  20. Are you using the Chief pdf printer? (printing to it as the printer instead of saving as a pdf.?)
  21. There is screen grab on your Mac built in where you can select what you want copy it to your clipboard and paste it into a cad detail as a picture.
  22. Sorry just happen to see this. If you are asking someone a question directly either tag them @nematode or quote them as I am doing here. I did just a quick search and I believe this particular thread might get you started in the right direction.
  23. This has been covered quite extensively several times in here. It is possible to do but takes some work. Try searching the forum for it.
  24. Chief builds rooms as boxes. Some boxes are open to below and don't have a floor structure. Others have a floor structure and are used for hallways and some of those rooms you can select whether to have a flat ceiling or be open to the underside of the trusses or rafters creating a "vaulted" look. Check it out!
