  1. I was asking after taking a (quick) cursory look at the general layout. I was just seeing some things that looked like they would benefit from some space planning adjustments.
  2. I save out the different plan versions. I generally end up with names during design development like Bob_DD_V2 hip, Bob_DD_V2 flat...
  3. P.S. Anna, is this your own house you are designing from the ground up or a remodel to an existing house?
  4. Clean up this corner of the room. There are a bunch of messy bits here. Some tiny room divider walls and such.
  5. If you take any image of a person with transparency for their background, you can replace that image for a 2d plant. This is better than your office mate with a personality like a potted plant.
  6. Here you go. No ray trace. Need to kick this out and go to sleep type of image. This did go out of CA and into PShop to clean up some issues. Heck, I think I overwrote the original so I can't show the little bits I had to clean up but it was not much. This is just above the mark to keep it out of the Crap thread (I hope).
  7. Just the right amount of squiggle. Very nice.
  8. I have contacted tech support on occasion. That was for technical issues. Therefore tech support seemed like the correct venue. For training issues, where I am pretty sure I am botching how to work the program, I have the generous community on this site to cater to my every need. I sometimes cater as well. This is a fantastic shared economy of information. The closest thing to socialism that money can buy. David, be a better comrade. Na zdorovye!
  9. Make the hallway space complete by closing off the wall at the top of the stairs. Then make that room Open To Below.
  10. Yes, get Premier. But, in the mean time what I would do is to not try to make something look real for a ground plane. I would make it look like a flat block to not distract from the element you are really trying to show. Just give it a pleasant neutral color that will not draw your eye.
  11. On my latest project I used Henry BlueSkin for the house wrap. That is a peel and stick full air and water membrane that is self sealing . On top of that I used a layer of material to ensure a rain screen type gap. http://www.benjaminobdyke.com/products/slicker-classic-rainscreen-6mm On a previous project I had used the product by Benjamin Obdyke that is a house wrap with small rubber bumps. I was much more confident that the gap would be maintained after the siding was installed with the rainscreen material. It is not yet a requirement to have a rainscreen for walls in California but I suspect it will come soon. It is already a requirement in Washington and Oregon.
  12. Polyline solids, converted to solids then exploded will give you face control for the texture. If you are putting something on with wood grain and need to get the look right on flat grain vs. edge grain I would go with the solids.
  13. My primary is a Dell 30" with a 27" off the side for Library, ALDO and Project Browser
  14. Depending on the zip code he left out 2 zero's.
  15. That is a standard item for listing local to me. After the crash I did this a bit but it was too time consuming to do in CA for me if I have design work available. I was charging $125 main up to 2k s.f.. I would add more for complexities. I have stopped doing it but get occasional calls for them. I have helped out a few when the house is too complex for the guy who does it locally. I actually just produced one last week for a buddy who noticed I had done the remodel drawinks for the house. That was pretty easy since the floor plan was done and I just hid the notes and changed the walls to a solid fill with one layer.

  17. I store them in a .plan file. I have them organized on a grid that fits in my sheet. I have organization grid lines that I don't print.
  18. Sometimes you can fix that by resetting the Default Wall Top Height or Bottom. A lot of the time I can not get this to work when I have high and low spaces like you appear to on this elevation and then I go to Photoshop.
  19. Without a doubt I can say with complete confidence that the reason that wall is there is because you did not post the plan.

  21. The most mysterious thing about this post is why you did not post the plan?
  22. Sometimes, when you are dimensioning it is is helpful to turn on the wall layer "Main Layer Only" so that you are only seeing the framing lines.
  23. The white boarding program was dismantled shortly after Obama took the oval office.
