  1. Here we only use sheathing for shear walls and siding, mostly stucco here. I'm my case I would want the ledger attached to the studs in most cases.
  2. I really feel this is wrong and needs to finally be fixed in the program.
  3. Even when using a pony wall below the ledger still goes over the siding or stucco. the ledger really should attach to the studs directly and not over the siding, Please Chief fix this as it has been incorrect forever. I always have to manually move the ledger.
  4. never use trusses, all conventional framing around here for me in remodeling, Contractors just don't want to wait for the truss companies designs. new homes are different.
  5. Around here hip roofs cost so much more than gable roofs b/c of the beams needed to hold up the hips and if its a second floor, beams in the floor system for bearing on the posts needed to hold up the hips, with a floor pad for the posts.
  6. look up Glen Woodard in Sydney, he is the best there is. Pm him here in this forum.
  7. Around here they are just a metal box recessed into a wall like a med. cabinet, usually in the master bedroom closet. I have been using a niche with a med cabinet placed into it.
  8. I always check for updated drivers monthly from NVidia, that probably why I didn't see it.
  9. Michael I call that using anno-sets , that's is what they are called and I do realize what I'm using.
  10. Michael I think you are giving the wrong info here, you can put all those things on a different layer, using Anno-sets, I never use Active defaults., Anno-sets are just the best thing Chief has and everyone should use them.
  11. Make an anno-set for every plan type, like floor ,framing, roof, site, then you can switch quickly without having to change the layers. For me it's the number one most important thing in Chief. I even have different anno-sets for sections and elevations, wall elevations, etc.
  12. of course not every texture has patterns included, you have to create those.
  13. They are very touchy, one small move can mess the whole thing up.
  14. I've done them sliding into a wall pocket
  15. transform/ replicate will flip it.
  16. I use a separate anno-set for wall elevations and 1/2 walls show up, maybe it just a turn on that layer thing, but that's too simple. Do you by chance have this box checked?, uncheck it.
  17. CHIEF FIXED THGE HEADER PROBLEM, BUT THE 2D PLAN VIEW IS JUST WRONG AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN.
  18. Well, if the pad footing is deeper than the house footing then that line would show anyway. I use them all the time
  19. I just change the drawing order of that pad to move it up or down in the view
  20. try a different browser , Edge doesn't work for me either and I just went to explorer and it worked.
  21. I use Adobe Acrobat DC and never seen it and use trans. fills
  22. I have 2 sets of walls ,1 for new and 1 for existing. They are exactly the same except for wall fills, existing having no fill. New having a light blue fill so when printed in grayscale they come out gray. The darker the blue you make it the darker the gray fill will be.. You may also have to create new walls as you go along with special conditions.
