  1. Try hitting f-12 to rebuild walls floors and ceilings.
  2. Yes, as Scott ( the great and wonderful oz) says, Reference sets are automatic and so much faster, set them up and done.
  3. yes just change the wall type in the wall DBX. You can also uncheck railing.
  4. I use Adobe Acrobat DC and file size is normal and print at 300 dpi. for good 24 x 36 prints. No problems here. Adobe also has "Adobe Send and track" for sending extra large files, like Dropbox
  5. ask Chief if you can have standing room in the classes or sneak in the back door.
  6. you can try reference sets to get things to show that don't. Post the plan.
  7. are you actually moving the sun to the correct side?
  8. Around here you can pay extra for plan check expediting , which means the plan checker just takes it home (not really, he does it at work) and gets the extra fee so now they ask you every time or it's a 3 month lag time.
  9. You can create just a vent schedule if you want.
  10. I agree with Michael, we should be able to select the Anno-sets to import.
  11. never seen that before, only way to find out is to post the plan. Something wonky somewhere. Maybe a video card problem.
  12. Try to make your view as large as possible on the monitor before sending to the layout. This pixelated view in the layout is normal. When you print it , the view will be fine.
  13. sheathing only needs to be full height at shear walls and in that case I agree but not always.
  14. Here we only use sheathing for shear walls and siding, mostly stucco here. I'm my case I would want the ledger attached to the studs in most cases.
  15. I really feel this is wrong and needs to finally be fixed in the program.
  16. Even when using a pony wall below the ledger still goes over the siding or stucco. the ledger really should attach to the studs directly and not over the siding, Please Chief fix this as it has been incorrect forever. I always have to manually move the ledger.
  17. never use trusses, all conventional framing around here for me in remodeling, Contractors just don't want to wait for the truss companies designs. new homes are different.
  18. Around here hip roofs cost so much more than gable roofs b/c of the beams needed to hold up the hips and if its a second floor, beams in the floor system for bearing on the posts needed to hold up the hips, with a floor pad for the posts.
  19. look up Glen Woodard in Sydney, he is the best there is. Pm him here in this forum.
  20. Around here they are just a metal box recessed into a wall like a med. cabinet, usually in the master bedroom closet. I have been using a niche with a med cabinet placed into it.
