follow Scott's lead for a fast answer on your problem, looks like a simple answer.

I like to leave auto attic walls on and at some point along the way I need to turn them off and continue, not sure when that point exactly is, usually after the roof is generated. but this also applies to the auto roof planes. For me doing it that way just saves time.

I'm not sure as I have a lot of "pdf's" in a final plan but never put them in the actual plan, I put them in the layout. The only slowness I see might be a couple seconds only on the pages with the full size "pdf's" on them like a title 24 pages at the end of the plan. With larger plans I will just not open the layout while working on the plan. I really don't see much of a slowness as you do. Lots of round railing can also slow it down, looks like you have lots of railings, try to turn them off while working on the plan. Also not sure if the Zeon's are the best CPU for Chief, ask Larry H. about that, something about multi-threading. I know he was having the same slowness.

Vector is different than png, bmp, Vector will enlarge and still get a crisp view and the others won't. They will just pixelate. Adobe does all of them, so you have to make sure which one you are getting. BTW "pdf" doesn't mean you are getting a vector view. Mike I have relatives in Prescott--nice town, I may move there some day.

exterior stairs not showing on floor plan

ref sets are the way to go. -
I think you have 2 different schedules going on, delete one of those and you'll be back to 1 label

I believe your chandelier test had too many variables to be totally accurate, like all the different computer systems used for the test, very hard to say for sure unless you use the same systems. Just my opinion but thanks for all your hard work on that, it was very interesting for sure.

me too. -
Well, the 1080 tests so much better than the 780 on paper. Your problem is probably something else, like your motherboard or your Zeon's so you don't see it.

You can always just use the "edit wall layer intersection tool" and just drag that layer back is one way to do it.

A while back Scott Hall(DSHALL) incorporated a manually made symbol with a holdown and post and the post label, all in one. it was Genius at the time. I wonder if he still has those. I know there were videos, but where? is the question. That was all before we had post and beam labels.

I have also seen this, is it a problem with the siding, or some kind of transparence setting, wall fill, or simply b/c It's on. I just don't know but would like to find out.

The whole Simpson catalog is in the lib, but you will have to place one manually, nice thought though. Likewise we would also like hangers to be automatic. I think Michael (alaskason)l has a system for that.

1080 is worth it b/c it will last you a long time, you won't have to upgrade for years. The "80" series is the best of the whole line, well all the NVidia lines., I got a 980ti and glad I did at the time.

We all started somewhere, good luck Sandy, you're doing it.

Yep around here in Los Angeles county you have to extend masonry fireplaces using metal studs and stucco exterior with a metal flue liner (5 page detail), so it is easier to tear down and rebuild. Also a lot of cities around here are not letting wood burning fireplaces at all. Air quality issue. But I still have to model the old fireplaces on the plan. I have extended many many masonry fireplaces, just hope you find rebar when you do. I think I deal with more older homes around here.

In the past , the leader lines have disconnected for no reason and I have sent in to T.S. . Although lately they have gotten a lot better and haven't noticed it misbehaving . It was really a problem if you had a macro attached. Working much better now depending on what version you are using.

Everyone's templates are different and may not be for you. I know I can't use anyone else's templates. I like my layer-sets and anno-sets, and you can't even pay me to use theirs, It's better for me to just re-draw it, and much faster. I refuse to change. That would slow me down so much. The best thing is to develop your own and keep improving it over time.

It really doesn't matter how many floors you have or whether you even use them at all. I always have 2 floors even on a 1 story plan, it makes it easier to build chimneys from walls and high ceilings and a good floor to place first floor dormers so you don't see them on the 1st floor .

Funny, I've seen about 4000 masonry chimneys, they are in just about every remodel job I do.

Chief has never handled fireplaces very well, p-solids are it. Sometimes you can use walls but only simple designs.
