We have been asking for soffit framing for many years. you can do it with ceiling planes and modified walls and drag the bottoms up but it sure would save a ton of time just to frame the soffits

X11 is, to me, one of the best releases ever , even in beta.

Larry--new stuff is old stuff after 1 year or less.

Exterior door swing & landings
DRAWZILLA replied to JJohnson's topic in Building Codes and Compliance
This is why I never use outswing doors in any of my plans, even if the homeowner wants it. I'll go with am sliding French door in those cases -
Not detailed enough for me try this program http://contourmapcreator.urgr8.ch/

Exterior door swing & landings
DRAWZILLA replied to JJohnson's topic in Building Codes and Compliance
I run into this all the time around here. I must have all doors swing in or provide code landings or stoops. There are sliders that look like French doors if your clients don't want the inswing. then you wont need the 1 1/2" step down. -
I would print in grayscale not black and white, you need to check the box " color off is grayscale" in preferences.

I thought that only "PNG" files can have a transparent background.

no experience with either, talk about dark ages

well then all I can say is post the plan then

You could try to make your bays using manually drawn walls instead of using them bay window tool.
-
also when you have a 2x12 rafter and must have tails at 2x4 to match existing trusses so no bump in the roof exists. you must use invisible soffits to get the framing correct. this is almost an every day thing in my world.. When the existing house is trusses we almost never use trusses for the addition. everything is stick built around here. unless it is a new structure.
-
Try using air gap instead
-
here is a short video about exposed rafters
-
I think so but Chief didn't tell us.
-
works for me, but you need to adjust the material to air gap
-
Sue them in small claims court and always take an up front retainer fee from people you don't know.
-
The curser is changed thru the windows options not chief.
-
if it's exposed rafters you want then change the soffit material to opening no material and the rafters will show.
-
not that I know of.

Berkeley bans natural gas in new construction
DRAWZILLA replied to Renerabbitt's topic in Building Codes and Compliance
Berkley, figures. -
only problem is when you have 2 floors and want to reference the windows on the 1st floor, they come out a solid lines even though the layer is for referenced windows to be dashed.. ! know its a symbol but can't Chief find a way to make them a real adjustable window..
-
I keep a few versions back just for changes or for clients that can't make up their minds for a while. at least keep the data file for those people that come back for more work
-
I have not as it could change before adoption. date.. way too soon to be thinking about that.
