  1. I use a "remarkable" device for measurements, it will export a "PDF". It also has cloud storage. Going to the next page is a simple button push. It's like pen and paper https://remarkable.com/?msclkid=fa81ebc56a711d994da5b6bc7178d6c5
  2. note that sloping soffits will not accept molding that slope with the soffit. Chief needs to fix that.
  3. Joe sorry buddy, late to the party. I really don't use the save to the lib. tool for notes. what I do is have my notes already to go in my template plan , its a lot easier to delete some then to create them each time. Mostm of my plan notes are not changed much but framing notes are creates each time and the schedule is already set up and ready to go, already sent to the template layout. As you may know I have everything already sent to the layout, floors, foundation, sections ,elevations , notes, site plan and lot calc's. details etc.. Deleting is much faster than creating and as I change things it's automatic 1 plan template and 1 layout template.
  4. I know that California requires a lot more than that. Joe Carrick sells a macro that will cover al that California needs. I have been using it for many years now.
  5. try color off is grayscale in preferences, then print in color with you print drivers. If you turn off color using the color off button you will see what it looks like. Just make sure yuou keep colors on the dark side so they show up . light gray doesn't work.
  6. I have been using Chief ,every day, for almost 15 years. Still learning every day. It never ends especially with yearly updates. I would try to cover the basics then let the student go further if they want ,because as we all know there just isn't enough time to do it all in class.
  7. I was experiencing periodically slowdowns but only sometimes, and I'm sure it wasn't chief, and what do you know had a windows update this morning and it's gone..
  8. Thanks buddy, I didn't know that
  9. I don't think they have.
  10. You could try to bring it in as a "PNG" file
  11. all my text is black because I print in color so most of my colors are on the darker side, same with grayscale. Also bold will work. Don't do anything with a light color using grayscale.
  12. I agree with Joe, all my note schedules and in fact all my schedules are in a cad detail.
  13. I'm not sure how it all works but I just uncheck attach head and tail to other objects and don't seem to have any problems.
  14. sometimes turning on "rooms" will fix it too.
  15. f.y.i. Los Angeles is one of the most difficult cities to draw anything in. Beware and good luck
  16. When X11 came out ,I brought forward a whole bunch of X10 plans without any problems.
  17. for right now I use a corner board and adjust as needed.
  18. Steve, if you hit the control key while selecting a part of the stairs, you can adjust just that section however you want to. been that way for many years
  19. Seems to me he had something but it might have been to much trouble and time to do.. Right now I just add cad lines in the sections.
  20. did you try to "clear printer info"? It's under file/print. Sometimes it clears things up.
  21. We have been asking for soffit framing for many years. you can do it with ceiling planes and modified walls and drag the bottoms up but it sure would save a ton of time just to frame the soffits
  22. X11 is, to me, one of the best releases ever , even in beta.
  23. Larry--new stuff is old stuff after 1 year or less.
  24. This is why I never use outswing doors in any of my plans, even if the homeowner wants it. I'll go with am sliding French door in those cases
