  1. Out here the hot plug is turned upsidedown so you can spot it easy. you may need a custom cad block to show it.
  2. It would be very helpful if Chief would give all of us remodelers more tools for new and existing even though it can all be made a part of a template plan. basically I have set up mine many years ago and not had to mess around with it since except for minor adjustments.
  3. I find that each different city has made up their own rules and they are all different, but things could change with this one, who knows?
  4. I move all the old data files to my 4tb backup drive. You can always access them if needed. I then delete the old program files because I will never go back and you can always open recent old plan files in the latest version. I do keep 2 versions back but when I get a new version, I uninstall the oldest version. If you work on old versions a lot then by all means keep them if that works better for you but you may have to invest in a larger hard drive.
  5. It could be gone for good. RIP
  6. I also updated the lib's this morning without any problems
  7. Oh how I miss Scott's videos, you all should see the funniest video of all time, the waterfall video, Thanks Scott Hall for laughing and learning at the same time.
  8. As in the past, at least around here the cities, and I deal with 50 of them, have made up their own rules about ADU's and didn't follow the state guidelines so I think the cities will try the same, but this one could be tied up in the courts for a long time. The secret is to catch the cities off-guard early before they lawyer up.
  9. In California I have had a structural engineer stamp all drawings for 30 years now mainly for all beam sizes (calcs) and lateral shear walls, pretty much required in the big cities here.. We also have to do energy calc's which have gotten very complicated lately. The cities here have all gone mad.!!
  10. I use Snagit by TechSmith, they have a free version and a small paid version
  11. What about inside measurements, I need that on every project I do? Sorry It doesn't work for me.
  12. It would be really nice if soffits would frame, I need framing here or I will have to manually fix up the sections. Nice video Steve, this will work for most people.
  13. This is something I have said for many years now. I use Adobe to print, never use Chiefs pdf.
  14. mine is very quiet and my grandson just bought a new one and can't hear any fans at all
  15. I think this kind of thing is faster and easier to just model as close as possible and use a cad detail for the gutter details
  16. Shadows are set in each camera's DBX now. Open the camera and check shadows.
  17. I t would be nice if Chief included a little toolbar button to include or not in the schedule, so much faster.
  18. in the door DBX under schedule just check include in schedule or not. I will draw the as-built with windows and doors unchecked then save as the as-built plan and continue to draw the new with them checked to include in schedule
  19. Simple solution, just do not include existing doors in the schedule and only the new doors will show up.
  20. 1000 electric meters would equal a crash
  21. Holey cow, I hope you get paid for all those changes
