Everyone really should join Dave's website. There is always something to learn

Chop is right, we need to see the plan, could be several reasons why.
-
It's always a good idea to start any new version using the profile plan and layout, might stop any quirky things from showing up.
-
Post the plan to find out what it is.

in the print-drawing sheet setup DBX is the "advanced lineweight options " set to 100mm ?
-
I also do a lot of remodels and "premier" is the only program I use., I need the framing and because it's a lot of custom work you need it.
-
Use layout line scaling when you send it to the layout. there is a checkbox there in the send to layout DBX..

That 2nd floor deck looks to me to be weak structurally , top heavy, you may want an engineer to look at that. Steel posts buried for lateral or steel shear walls beneath imbedded into some type of column. Just for f.y.i.

I deal with 50 cities and I'm sure you are right about checking with each one, just my experience. It would surly be nice though.
-
around here the cities want wet signitures.
-
works ok for me too, Joe
-
Looks like you have a leak or have "no room definition" checked on 1 or some walls.. Check your wall connections also.
-
Joe Carrick has a system for all that stuff, check with him,

I use a lot of light sources , put them anywhere and they don't show in render view. It's like having extra lights without adding extra light fixtures. Make sure to change the amount of lights in the camera DBX to 50 or 100. also
-
You can also turn down the lights as needed

I used to have Softplan, very glad I jumped ship 15 years ago, never gone back

Setting Stem Wall Height in Build Foundation dbx...?
DRAWZILLA replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
One little tip I do is instead of a slab floor in that crawl space I make the slab 1/16 inch thick and use a dirt material so it shows up in the sections. this makes it a lot easier to get your 18" min. in that underfloor area. Then in that room adjust the height to whatever you want . -
Do you find the measurements accurate?
-
Hope chief doesn't dump it anytime soon, I still have masonry fireplaces on almost every job around here.
-
can't we just use the cad block insertion point tool to set a new insertion point for a cad block for that ?
-
that MATERIAL HAS BEEN THERE FOR MANY VERSIONS NOW

Thanks Rene, good stuff -
I actually like the use of room planner except for the fact that there is no consideration for measuring the site ,which occurs on every job. If they only somehow could make that work , even using just lines and text. My experience was also that it takes me much longer to do a measure of an as-built vs. paper and pen. I do like the transfer to Chief though so if it takes longer to measure I guess , less time spent at the layout stage once in Chief. Might be a tradeoff. I like to get in and out of there as quick as I can though.
