You could try to make your bays using manually drawn walls instead of using them bay window tool.
-
also when you have a 2x12 rafter and must have tails at 2x4 to match existing trusses so no bump in the roof exists. you must use invisible soffits to get the framing correct. this is almost an every day thing in my world.. When the existing house is trusses we almost never use trusses for the addition. everything is stick built around here. unless it is a new structure.

Try using air gap instead
-
here is a short video about exposed rafters
-
I think so but Chief didn't tell us.
-
works for me, but you need to adjust the material to air gap
-
Sue them in small claims court and always take an up front retainer fee from people you don't know.
-
The curser is changed thru the windows options not chief.
-
if it's exposed rafters you want then change the soffit material to opening no material and the rafters will show.
-
not that I know of.

Berkeley bans natural gas in new construction
DRAWZILLA replied to Renerabbitt's topic in Building Codes and Compliance
Berkley, figures. -
only problem is when you have 2 floors and want to reference the windows on the 1st floor, they come out a solid lines even though the layer is for referenced windows to be dashed.. ! know its a symbol but can't Chief find a way to make them a real adjustable window..

I keep a few versions back just for changes or for clients that can't make up their minds for a while. at least keep the data file for those people that come back for more work
-
I have not as it could change before adoption. date.. way too soon to be thinking about that.
-
for that you can just uncheck," include in schedule" in the window DBX
-
maybe you could create a filled polyline and save it to your lib. for future use. I do it for an earth fill for sections and send it to the back. don't forget to unblock it prior to adjusting the size

Best practice for full walkout basement plan?
DRAWZILLA replied to GeneDavis's topic in General Q & A
I still like the foundation on floor zero and the basement on floor 1. It might be a California thing as I don't like to clutter up any floor plans with all the stuff we have to include on the foundation plan like many shear walls and holdowns we have to include on the framing and foundation plans here. Some times it just gets to much to put on a floor plan. -
Best practice for full walkout basement plan?

I have always started my drawings my way and never had to repair like you say, so I have no idea what you might have to fix. BTW there are people here that like the floor zero for the basement level. I never did. -

I would set the basement level as floor 1 so you still have floor zero as a foundation plan. -
I've stuck with Area 51 and Alienware for 15 years, never had any problems keeping up. I also get a new one when needed about every 5 years. Then give the old one to one of the grandkids, they are always asking me to upgrade.

at first sight of the different layout pages, the page numbering use to get messed up, so we put that extra template at the end , solved that problem. ! haven't changed that since. I use A-#,,FOR Architectural set and S-# for structural set. but I also use the actual page numbering.
-
The only problem is that you can only revise that schedule one page at a time. If you have 35 pages, that could take some wasted time.. Place your revisions very carefully .

Sometimes the little laser hole gets too much junk in it. blow it out. Happens to me .

DRAWZILLA replied to calgaryhomes's topic in General Q & A
I always keep everything live. although I do sometimes use plotlines for sections but no shadows on those. -

don't know why you are seeing this problem but I'm not seeing that problem, so if I had to guess it could be a video card driver problem ,or some setting is wrong somewhere.
