VHampton
I’ve been testing this workflow on a few current projects. The speed is impressive. For example most of these took under a minute to generate. The biggest issue I ran into early on was losing control of the architecture… windows shifting, proportions drifting, etc. What made the difference was tightening up the prompt with clear constraints: – Preserve exact architecture – Do not modify structure, openings, or proportions – Enhance lighting, materials, and environment only Once those guardrails were in place, the results became much more reliable. Sharing a few before/afters here. 1

And the cloud idea.........I am not inclined to drop Dropbox, or pay more for a CA cloud service. Chief should integrate with Dropbox. They don't need to expand outside their true focus...CAD software and not try to be a jack-of-all-trades. I really don't want them to do away with it totally. The quick PBRs do work in a pinch, IMO, esp. when I'm just conveying an idea or an approval. I mean I don't need photo quality for every camara view. Do they need to go further, I don't think so, or like you mentioned, team up with someone. There are some on here like Rene who are just geniuses on the lighting and getting their views to look great and natural. Me, however, I don't want to figure the sun exact direction so that things in a bedroom are not to dark or to bright. Or figure out how to make a material look more realistic.. and so on on every camera view. This has taken a lot of time, and I still am not good at it. I want to drop what view I have and tell the service what I want.. and keep moving on. Like the two bedrooms. The first one is PBR, 350 passes.. the second, told Chat to "make more natural and inviting" and mentioned the SW paint number that I had showing in my model.. that's it. All these views you all showed look great to me. @robdyck Rob, I love that style of architecture.. you know its Canada when you see a hockey goal in the cul-de-sac.. "Car".. "Game on"... mtldesigns
Not architecturally related... one of my buddies and his girl took the day and weekend off to go fishing here in NE Florida, you know, where we are in extreme drought, near the Georgia fires.. I did a quick ChatGPT of his lake...

And it almost got the fence house connection right, pretty close. although it looks like the house is bigger that it was at the peak in the original. curious, can you tell it to make it smaller maintaining the aspect ratio? Rich_Winsor
Here's a Chief image of a local auditorium I rendered and the AI version created from it. Prompt was to move the camera angle back and up and populate the image with students leaving the auditorium.

Should we call this a close encounter of the AI kind? BTW, some people have expressed, shall we say, concern over the little guy's lack of apparel. Not wanting to ruffle anyone's feathers I submit to you an edited version correcting that issue.
ProPlan_2011
I guess prompts are crucial for AI rendering and I guess Rich_Winsor didn't mention "don't change the door handles" ... Don't we get so picky ?
Joe_Carrick
Ok, so I tried ChatGPT with my A-Frame Cabin. Keep Architecture, Encance materials and Landscaping Add a few people on deck, change vehicle to a Mercedes GLK It's pretty amazing what a few simple instructions can do.
Rich_Winsor
Robert, please don't take this in any way as a criticism of your image but I find it interesting that AI seems to like to keep cracks in streets and driveways etc. I seem to remember someone else also commenting on this behavior. Usually I would think this would be undesirable as these are often sign of trouble to come. With this in mind I had a play with your image to illustrate the possible outcome of such problems. innocent cracks? Prompt: Show what would happen if a big sink hole appeared in the street where the cracks are around the manhole cover.

Michael_Gia
I don’t wanna be a party pooper, but this was a great thread and it’s turned into a circus unfortunately. Maybe we need a new section for serious posts only? 1
VHampton
Thanks Michael... agreed that this has been one of the best threads in a long time. On a side, your prompts for maintaining accuracy with the AI work are stellar. Thanks for sharing them.
