I keep a dashed door, made from CAD lines, in my library to use for cases like this. For a "future" door...just use a doorway and drop this from the library into the opening.

This particular builder does build those. He uses that extra space as chase and wants what ever he puts in there separated from the insert. The note (8) states to install per mfg instructions for clearance, so the inset what probably me bumping it into the wall opening, it should be flush.

Make them normal walls rather than foundation walls and see if that gives you what you want. You can still specify that they are bearing, and contain footings, but I think the problem is they are FOUNDATION walls and not NORMAL walls

You need to place a wall to cover the bumpout, then use a doorway to create the opening for the insert to slide into...exactly like it will be constructed in the field. You can spec the header and trimmers, just suppress the casing and jamb.

Floor "0" is the basement/foundation. Easy peasy, and use Anno/Layer Sets (or the new saved plan view sets) to provide a foundation plan and finished basement plan all in the same model. These are all LIVE section view and wall details exactly as the model is built..they are live camera views.

I didn't. If your layers are set up to be "default" simply change the background color and the default black lines turn white automatically. It's the line that you have set to black per line that will not be visible. I only use black backgrounds.

I will admit, I don't fully understand how the exterior material default works, for the same reasons as you have stated...I have changed it, nothing happens or even worse something happens that I wasn't expecting, so yes..if you want to safely, and without hiccups change from a lap siding to a board & batten you need to have those walls set up and saved. As for interior colors I rarely change those unless I have been asked to be a part of the interior design and rendering portion, but I would add a 1/8" color layer to the interior wall.

Don't copy the layer, copy the plan. Hit SAVE AS and make a new copy of the plan you are working on. Now you can change and experiment and the original plan file is unchanged. But yes, you can also simply copy and paste. Open the new plan, select the cad block, hold CTRL C go to the new plan and hold CTRL ALT V. Make the CAD layer a block first.

Just like it's going to be built. Build your wall type and go.

Try making the sub facia a 2"x8" and see what happens.

Are you up on Anno Set and how how they work with the layer sets?

You can override globally when you send to layout. Check the box for PATTERN line weight and color. When you use that method, you loose the ability to control line weights from you layer/anno set, but it will accomplish what you are looking for.

Break the wall and set the thickness.

There is a post footing tool you can use to create that footing pad.

Unless you are using Auto Roofs, then you set the pitch in the wall dialog box the roof is setting on and let Chief do the rest.

You will need to rebuild the framing for those walls or the 4 plates won't show.

Check the dimension of the sub-fascia. Even if you don't use one, it controls that depth.
