  1. I see everything....but I see EVERYTHING. All the layers are turned on, so he/she will have to wade through the layers. In Chief, not sure if it's the same with Pro, but when exporting a view, say FLOOR PLAN, there is a check box to only export the layers visible in that view. Same for ELECTRICAL, etc...so I will export the views when sending to an engineer. A structural engineer doesn't hardly every need to see the electrical plans and things like that, so I will export just the FOUNDATION PLAN, or the FRAMING PLANS, and leave all the other layers off so that they don't export. Hope that makes sense.
  2. Cut a hole in the roof. or simply break the roof planes at the ridge and pull them down to create the hole.
  3. Cabinet hardware, door hardware, windows hardware?
  4. Draw a foundation wall under it.
  5. Patently false. There are still things I would like to see, but saying I have less now than I did back in v.9.5 is simply false.
  6. No worries. Sometimes we all get lost in our work and the easiest answers escape us.
  7. Perhaps you should check your libraries, they may need updated.
  8. P.S. If the wall is solid masonry, you will need to eliminate the rough opening settings. The gap you see is probably the rough openings, but there isn't framing in a solid masonry wall.
  9. Window recessed to sheathing layer. 2" sash setting, 2" frame setting.
  10. Also. Your cabinets are overlapping, which is why you have this result.
  11. Open the stairs and make sure the stair railing in displayed.
  12. Auto Stairs? Is that what you are asking? You need to generate the stairs Chief will not Auto generate those for you.
  13. I use the move roof plane tool and shade the upper. There is a note indicating as such
  14. Yes, manually. You will need to break the main roof plane to produce the "valley" edges to connect to or Chief will keep giving you a warning.
  15. WARNING WARNING...Avoid that tool like the plague!! OK, maybe not the actual plague, but use of that tool WILL cause unwanted results down the line. Always use a thin "paint" layer, or simply copy the drywall,....layer and give it a unique name that will show in the schedule
  16. OTOH...leaving them on and setting up a layer set to assist you makes it a lot easier to track point loads down through walls.
  17. Is the jamb inset, or is there a change in framing? If the door is simply inset into a think wall does it open all way? Are you sure it's not a step in the framing to allow for the door to operate properly?
  18. You can also use the MATERIAL REGION tool and add it while in elevation mode. This tool gives you the ability to "shape" the stone around the terrain like the installers would have to do.
  19. Thanks Steve. I am going to have to learn plan views I'm afraid, so this certainly helps. Really worried my Anno Set method will go away soon.
  20. 1 - The stone is applied using a wall material region...just as it would be with this type of cultured stone....so I am able to manipulate the bottom edge to follow the terrain. 2 - Pretty much the same as above. When veneer is applied using the wall material region, it "hides" the foundation wall below it so that I can use my WALLS, STONE VENNER layer to control the line type and weight.
  21. Working up a daylight basement set now. Foundation walls use my layer settings.
  22. I use a layer set (ELEVATIONS, EXTERIOR) and the layer WALLS, FOUNDATION is set to light gray and dashed to achieve this.. If you don't want anything showing, put a thick "grade line" on your elevation and after sending it to layout, pull the view window up to the line...
