  1. Yes. The IDs that work in my office go to the 3D warehouse all the time to get furniture and various pieces. You can simply drag and drop from Sketchup directly into a plan you are working on to save time.
  2. Yes. No tutorials that I know of but it's as easy as installing Dropbox and using it as a drive. All my client files, plan file, and layout files are saved in there.
  3. Not true. Leave auto Roofs on and select the wall(s) on the back side and set the pitch there. Break the wall into 3rds so that you can adjust accordingly.
  4. Been using Dropbox for at least a decade, no issues at all.
  5. You can renumber, or simply grab the rows and drag them where you want them to display in the schedule.
  6. Assembling pages shouldn't take anytime at all, all the work is done in the plan file.
  7. Shane Kitchen in Michigan has done a couple large round roofs complete with truss layout. Don't remember his username.
  8. I have been working in the industry since the late 80's early 90's, right side vertically is the standard. When rolled, you should be able to find all relevant information from the title block without needing to unroll.
  9. These are live camera views. I cut 12" sections from my model and label them.
  10. Layer setting. Select the window, look at the active layer display, and uncheck the LABEL layer.
  11. Simply draw a length of railing the size you want and convert it to a symbol. Now you can place it anywhere, anytime without any workaround, simply a symbol.
  12. Seems like a silly question but, are you sure you are hitting DELETE on the right and not at the top?
  13. You are not looking at the silhouettes, you are looking at the "image CAD" of people. You are looking for this library... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/3d-library/index.php?r=site/detail/1222
  14. Then you would order a 1-1/2" or 3" dishwasher end and Chief would count it as a cabinet and place your countertop. Just like the guys in the field are going to do it.
  15. Is the Jamb turned off? Did you increase the size of the opening and not re-frame the wall?
  16. Speaking from experience, find the manufactures specs on that window and the price. Sticker shock generally means a change to the drawings.
  17. I generally just add 2 cuts, 1 at each side of the dormer, at the fascia line and pull the main roof back to the ridge line. It will separate into 2 roof planes at that point.
  18. The information lives in the materials list but, while in elevation camera create a polyline and aim that polyline to a custom schedule.
  19. Don't use a railing wall, turn the small section of railing into a Symbol. Draw a section of railing and while you have it selected, look for the SYMBOL TOOL at the bottom. Select that tool and now that section will be a drop in and won't have the wall properties.
  20. Same. Keeps my story pole dims the way I want them. @EmmaCox once you add some rooms to the basement the default base trim should be there. Check your template plan to ensure you don't have trim turned off by default and now it isn't showing. I leave it on and just remove it from unfinished areas, so you should have base trim in there.
  21. I would love to see that plan built. I am having a hard time imagining how to build that, let alone create it in Chief.
  22. There isn't one. Chief doesn't do backwards compatibility. Once a plan or layout is opened and saved in a newer version, the older version can't ready it. You can go to the older version archive folder and find your last plan used in that version, but not the newer ones.
  23. Just make one CAD polyline and drag it over the area you want counted and point it to your custom schedule.
