  1. Hello fellow users, I am liking the pbr camera, thanks to all your testing and adjustments! Shout out to Graham, Mick, Larry I have experienced a weird siding color disparity in a railing wall using the same exterior wall type. The siding on the bottom of the railing wall where it covers the floor system. It doesn't seem to matter if its a solid railing type or baluster type. I just reported it to tech support.
  2. Hi Bob, Close chief, make a copy of the x9 user library and place it into the x10 Database Libraries folder. Start chief
  3. Also don't forget the WindsorONE moldings library. Has some molding styles from the past. Its a Manufacturers library
  4. If they are drawn at full scale originaly, just import them into cad detail. then send to layout to required scale. you could even do that in your layout cad details, so it stays with your template.
  5. Jason, Select your roof tool, hold your shift key down and draw a marquee around all roof planes. Then go to the transform and replicate dbx and put a check in the box beside move category. Then put 12" in the Z section. This will move all roofs at the same amount and not mess with the manual ones.
  6. Depending on the data type, I import directly into a blank plan to see how it works.
  7. Hi harrisd, I can help you with your plan and training on x9. Please contact me to discuss specific details that you need help with and costs. Send a private message with your contact info.
  8. I think it has to be done when you install chief on the machine. Custom install.
  9. Hi Griffin, I am sure I can help. I sent you pm. Thank you, Michael
  10. Tommy, Make sure in the options panel that it is set to 1 vertical panel. other wise they work here.
  11. ok, what part of the plan or layout were you working on. Just trying to help jog memory I would be suspicious of the ssd, can you try put your plans on a disk drive? just saw your last post on hot keys, starting to wonder if there is a problem with the data folder? Is there any background processes running that might be affecting the folder. like back up routines, system back up commands etc just thinking out loud, I dislike technology problems as much as you do right now!
  12. Why is Chief crashing? What was the last command given?
  13. What I have noticed is that the material default does not change. Has to be made default in new wall copy.
  14. Hey I am in Minnesota, north of MSP about an hour! I would be able to help you, send me a pm with contact info
  15. I would try print to chief pdf instead of printing directly to your printer. Then open pdf and print from there. See if that works
  16. Ed what are you looking for? you can make a bump or better yet a normal map of any existing material, very easy Here is a link Kirk posted up a while back on normal maps. Its real easy once you make a couple. I just do a back up of entire plan with textures to have a copy of each texture I want to use for making the normal map from. then its all saved in one place for easy use. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/11836-normal-maps/#comment-101872
  17. Rashid, Make your concrete floor on foundation level 0. mixed with a black color. or like Scott said build your framing to get sill plate. paint that black.
  18. I can help, send me a message with contact info.
  19. Also don't forget to cut/ break your roof around your 3rd floor walls. Move them up to 3rd to make it easy.
  20. Mike: 1-pony wall, stucco top and interior lower, show lower wall in plan view 2-have to break the roof around the walls to let them build. Just In case you forgot, roofs cut off walls! 2017-02-edit.plan
  21. two answers 1- I made a folder inside the client folder so it was easy to keep track of. Thats where i put the copies of the bump and normal maps I use. 2- I used the shadow board tab in the fix all roofs command. I used the CS-05 casing molding in core molding library, set to 2 1/2" tall x 3/4, from the top. hth, happy raytracing!
  22. Christina, Thank you for the tips, will be setting up bed time renders soon!
  23. Christina, very nice work. kudo's to you! I was curious if I missed something about running multiple ray traces, in sequence? How'd you do that? My fav is the overhead view of the backyard veranda design! I really like your design & layout! It feels like a fun place to be on a summers evening! I also like the pano of the kitchen, it does take the place of at least 3 view point renders! oh and thank you again for the sun angle map, I remember when you shared it last time! thx again
