  1. Hi Raquel, Looking good! The side piece is made with the camera 2 in my sample plan. Use the polyline solid tool as before. Then copy it to the other side. cheers, Michael
  2. When the room is selected in plan view look at your sub menu of tools(at the bottom of your screen) look for the tool that looks like this. By the way, It would be nice to know your name. regards, Michael
  3. I think Garybills is referring to a polyline solid, have a look at this sample to see how the pieces are made. I saved the back clipped cross section cameras. I used polyline solid tool in the camera to make the pieces. I changed the thickness to 3/4" ( 20mm) door valance model.plan
  4. The polyline solid is for the shape of the valance board, make that in a back clipped cross section camera. Then use the right click, make room molding command from plan view to get your desired crown molding to break around the valance. I used x14 without thinking, same process as x12.
  5. Hey Doug, I had to try my idea of how to make this. Seams like it works. sample included Mansard-roof-testing.plan
  6. Really need a better picture, good your going to look in person. It appears to me the area with the window is the vertical wall part of mansard style construction. Just break your roof on either side and then make a separate pitch for under the window area and adjust the pitch so it intersects with the bottom of the window. 3d solids for the trim boards.
  7. I took a look and reset the default on the top and bottom wall settings. If you don't use attic wall type it works. Have a look. IngramB-mpedit.zip
  8. Hi Bryce, I took a look and found out there was no light set created for the exterior views. I believe chief automatic lighting mode defaults to 8 lights max, if you create a new light set then as many as you turn on.
  9. Hi Jack, I looked at your plan, the connections are a bit off of the attachment point on the switch. but then I moved it to the end and it stayed attached. Try attaching the connection to the end of the S like the left 2 gang box in the front hall in this image.. Sometimes you need to hold the control key down to get the connection line to bend to the switch. HTH
  10. I got it to work with the stock glass panel door type. Also used double arch type on the side lites. File attach for you review. Wine Cellar door testing.plan
  11. Try a balcony room type. Instead of a deck. Then you will get the ceiling below. Just change the room label if needed. Or use a shelf ceiling in the room below, lower till it covers the framing
  12. Hi Rob, There are a few signs in the Bonus Catalog, Accessible Design, Signage works in vector views also!
  13. Main menu, 3d, lighting, add lights
  14. Thanks, what I suspected .
  15. I would like to know what solution you used. thx
  16. I think you need to use 3d trees and bushes to get shadows in the exterior views without raytracing.
  17. Hi Chad, I would select the door way and pull the right side to the wall. This will eliminate the newel. The left side needs a newel for railing transition. Or line up with 2nd floor railing to continue the railing
  18. It looks like the terrain is set to 36" below main floor 0. Open the terrain dbx and set it to +4".
  19. make sure you are using railing wall type on both levels.
  20. Ok I followed @perryplanspro video and was able to fix it! https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/25193-x12-crash-and-windows-fth-warnings/?do=findComment&comment=221356 Thank you Perry for making the video!
  21. I just sent a plan to tech support because the 3d solid object, when I try to copy and rotate it with the rotate handle it would crash Chief. It happened 3 times, then I got this warning. Now I'm trying to fix it, no luck yet. Have followed chief recommended procedures, no joy! Caution to all, don't let it crash more than 1-2 times. Use a different method to achieve your task. Waiting to hear back from tech.
  22. My bad, I just reopened the plan and placed a foundation wall under the garage partition wall. Made the laundry floor the same height as rest of interior (0") Fixed
  23. I think this is a bug, if you delete the foam layer under the slab it doesn't tapper to the back of the garage. You should send to tech.
  24. Nailed it Eric! I don't use tray's very often but now I will now what to do with them! Thank you for sharing.
