  16. It has to do with the red color you are using. If you want it to not to go black use a lighter color of red. RGB color (R-255,G-70, B-70) it appears after testing this that if your green, blue is below 60-65 it looks black.

I just tried this to see it again. open geoplaner and upload the file I shared. It will fill in the points in order of there original clicking order.
  18. I had the same issue yesterday morning. (~30 seconds is an eternity on a computer) I thought it was my computer acting up! Rebooted several times, checked task manager and the process was running but not the application. It finally opened after shutting the computer off and I walked away cursing till about 8:15 central. I like Jon's thought about a fail safe, How about a password access with a challenge question as backup?
  19. I think Its certainly close enough for approximate terrain modeling. Its an easy way to make a terrain in your plans. It used to take me quite a bit of time to get half way decent results from chiefs tools and images of elevation maps from google and county websites..
  20. Hey gang, Glad it worked for you Bruce & Mike. Wow Bruce 500 point markers, that took a few minutes. Scott & Perry Navigate to your lot. zoom in so you can see lot boundary lines. Place about 100 + markers over your lot or area. Chief extrapolates the contours better with more points. Then export the waypoints. Then import the gpx file into chief using the gps import function. Rebuild terrain and presto! Here is a file that I made about 220 or so points. It is in Steamboat CO. waypoints (1).zip
  21. I messed with it for a bit. It wasn't liking the walls only on 2nd flr. As you said no finished bottom to floor platform. I didnt try building the framing though. Maybe thats the answer. I would stick with your approach of soffits and solids.
