  1. Between the 2 (new and existing) does Chief still create that line in vector view? That's why I don't do it anymore, unless they fixed that.
  2. I agree with you 1 million percent.
  3. You are correct, I don't think It's always been that way. Never noticed , as I usually build roof planes and attic walls manually. It's just what I remember.
  4. Chief will not generate an attic wall where there is no wall below.
  5. Funny, I have never used that "make copy of active layer set" and never had Scott's problem.
  6. just cut the roof at the ridge and drag it back to the attic wall, there is a space there. There is no wall below so no attic wall will generate at the garage, you need to do that manually. Or just add a new attic wall or, you can just drag the existing attic wall over the garage area.
  7. Not sure but I think the reference set you might be using references the floor you just came from another- wards , if you come from level 0 to level 1 then your reference is level o. if you go to level 3 then to level 2 you are referencing level 2. Just a guess
  8. try "object property's" for a list of what's available for each thing.
  9. You mean like, what the heck are they doing and ,why can't Scott run all the meetings.
  10. I use a lot of macro's from Joe and Michael, Ruby access has greatly been enhanced since Wendy did her thing. I use them for site plan analysis , window's and doors and headers and have created some of my own for simple tasks. Macro's can be used for everything now. Really saves time
  11. I could have really used sheep, when I was young. Glad you figured it out, I usually start with the auto roofs, then fix manually, but once you get into it, manually is just as simple. No open country there anymore.
  12. 2nd question, is just to adjust the newel posts in the stair DBX to get your 6' spacing then add the full height post manually. Or add another no room def. railing wall and slide it right over the existing railing wall you already show. At this point Chief won't do it automatically . you can also do it using symbols or molding polylines. but I think the first way is the easiest.
  13. I quickly looked at it and I have no problem generating a roof manually. are you trying to do it automatically? try this ink https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02911/message-cannot-produce-a-roof-plane.html?utm_source=Chief+Architect+Premier+19+x64&utm_medium=software&utm_campaign=Resource%3A+faq&utm_content=Error+ID%3A+272009003
  14. ok got it fixed. I had to remove the opening and just cut the wall at the opening and make it invisible. here it is back at you. Wise House REMODEL V stair fixed.plan
  15. Did you play with the wall intersection tool?
  16. you must have used p-solids for the lower railing ,I guess, sometimes I will have a solid railing and need a w.i. railing on top or fill in a space with railing and you can't have two walls in one space unless you make one wall a non-def. wall.
  17. I guess you did not do the 2 wall method but all ok.
  18. I guess it depends on how you build those walls. I will sometimes combine 2 walls into 1 wall but one of those walls needs to be a no room definition.
  19. You can fix that by using the "edit wall intersection " tool. Just back it off the wall you want the stucco on.
  20. I think if you uncheck "attic wall", then you can delete them. Chief likes to turn them into invisible walls
  21. somebody won the lottery
  22. here is your fixed plan, you had some roof plane baselines that were off just a tad. Rancher_(030)_v01_fixed.plan
  23. Oh I think you will have a gazillion tips for the masses, wish I could come. Maybe someone can video it and put it on the web site. They sound like fun. I suppose Chief will have a glimpse of X10 by then
  24. Scott, are you teaching one of the courses at the UGM ?
