  1. Is this a 2 story plan, if so adjust the floor height on the 2nd floor.
  2. I noticed Chop didn't have "Modify all layers" checked, but not sure if that means anything anymore.
  3. Sorry you have a Mac and we have 2 NFL teams now, even if they are rated last. I now have to take 7 grandkids to the movies today, that's what their mom's want.
  4. If I were to jump out of a 3rd floor window, I could charge the homeowner for a new pool with a dead body in it, but then I guess they could charge me for the body removal
  5. Not having any ALDO problems, and I leave it always on, on my second monitor.
  6. Looks to me like your upper windows have a larger space between the windows (casing) so the windows are not aligned to the bottom windows and of course the grids won't align.
  7. I see a 3 story plans around here with no accounting for any egress at all. No sure weather it required or not.

    help

Scott Hall and Joe Carrick live there. DSHALL and YODA
  9. looks like your default room labels, change the size in the ROOM LABELS defaults DBX. I don't use those room labels so I have nothing there
  10. Yes, material region is the way to go, then you don't have any wall breaks
  11. I've been trying to get Chief to add a "PSL" to the beam labels forever. Others too like "LVL", GLB. I guess I have no pull with them like Scott does.
  12. it's been many years since I've done a true 3 story, because the cities are so height anal here, max. heights are around 32' or around that height depending on the city, but we used to be able to use a roll out ladder, and it had to be quick accessible on the 3rd floor. We just kept it in a closet. Done lots hillsides but those don't qualify as a 3 story. Those were the good ole days. do you need a copy of the CRC, let me know i'll send it to you?
  13. How about a roll out ladder thru a window. That used to work.
  14. That's why you need 2 different framing layers, as it would be built in the field.
  15. Joe, is the "My framing labels" new and for sale or are they the old ones?
  16. Thanks, looks nice, anything special like custom macro's or just something anyone can do.
  17. I just use a typical line at 100 line weight so I don't have to break any walls. for the holdowns I just use details and collouts for those. There is nothing in Chief's program that automates this and the materials list is wrong, if you use it.
  18. Chief already re-vamped the stair tool I believe in X8. Just didn't go as far as people want.
  19. Did you try to print it to PDF, b/s sometimes extra lines go away when you actually print it.
  20. For me it's basically 8' ceilings 80" window and door height, 9" ceiling=96" window and door height. 10' ceilings =96" window and door heights. Interior doors can be 80" high no matter what the ceiling height is. It depends on the room. I never use any rough openings because as the design stage ,I have no idea who the manufacturer is of anything in the plan. and the builder will determine the price, and who that is, varies greatly. Sometimes even after permit, they still don't know. So I leave it generic.
  21. Do you have the latest update, I thought that was fixed.
