I'm not seeing any slowing like you , try tech support on tues. You might just have a corrupt symbol or something simple. What kind of video card do you have and number, maybe you have to upgrade it?

Foundation Wing Wall Extending to Top of 1st Floor
DRAWZILLA replied to aladdin's topic in General Q & A
You could make that wall invisible. -
Just a 15 seconds for me.
-
You have to make that yourself or try Dave at chieftutor.com, I think he has some similar door on his website

Some people here put it in Dropbox. Yes you can move it but you also need to tell chief where to look for it in preferences. I just keep mine where it is installed, don't need any trouble.
-
or roof defaults is good, are you using chief premiere version?
-
yes, go to the gutters tab of the roof DBX.

Wait until you see what Joe has , he can save you hours of drawing time.

Anywhere close is good, if you get too far from absolute zero, funny things start to happen. I just set it up in a template plan and haven't had to move it since 2005

Can I save a newer version file to an older version?
DRAWZILLA replied to Rytikom25's topic in General Q & A
no way to do it at this point. -
Looks to me like that is the fascia board and soffit. This is exactly why we need control of every part of the fascia on any roof plane portion. we would be able to break the roof plane and delete whatever we want. Right now all you can do is turn off any auto roofs (framing and roofs) and grab the fascia in plan view and drag it back or if the fascia is not exposed anywhere, just turn the fascia and soffits off, but you cannot turn on auto roofs and framing or you will get it back.

If you can get the metals catalog in the bonus section, get it , it has some nice stainless materials. -
Need tips for reducing raytrace time and computer usabilty
DRAWZILLA replied to DBCC-pinky's topic in General Q & A
my tip would be to turn off all your lights in the plan and use light sources instead. I can generate decent ray-traces in just a couple of minutes. Light sources are just like light's but don't show like a fixture does.. -
I have checked in to this and it only does 1 room at a time , there is no stitching process yet so I can't use it. .https://canvas.io/

thanks Michael.

I just start out using a large layout viewport but you do have to check it before printing. Electrical is a particular problem, it seems to get larger than the page. One solution is to make the 2 or 3d view smaller but not so small you can't read it. I use separate schedules for each floor and put each schedule on it's floor plan page. Sometimes the floor plan is too large to fit all that, in that case all you can do is go to a larger page or put all schedule's on their own page, but I hate doing that b/c flipping pages for that ,is not good in my mind. I also don't use a callout and add the window or door label to the plan that says exactly what size it is.

You can also just move your camera outside the terrain and make the terrain thick enough to hide the footing. I also put a dirt texture on the skirt so in elevation it looks like dirt. No mask needed and automatic every time
-
You also need to send it in to T.S. if you haven't already.

Tell us all what that means or provide a pic.

Try this site, it's pretty good for textures, https://brick.com/innovative-online-tools
