If you can get the metals catalog in the bonus section, get it , it has some nice stainless materials. -
Need tips for reducing raytrace time and computer usabilty

my tip would be to turn off all your lights in the plan and use light sources instead. I can generate decent ray-traces in just a couple of minutes. Light sources are just like light's but don't show like a fixture does.. -
I have checked in to this and it only does 1 room at a time , there is no stitching process yet so I can't use it. .https://canvas.io/

thanks Michael.

I just start out using a large layout viewport but you do have to check it before printing. Electrical is a particular problem, it seems to get larger than the page. One solution is to make the 2 or 3d view smaller but not so small you can't read it. I use separate schedules for each floor and put each schedule on it's floor plan page. Sometimes the floor plan is too large to fit all that, in that case all you can do is go to a larger page or put all schedule's on their own page, but I hate doing that b/c flipping pages for that ,is not good in my mind. I also don't use a callout and add the window or door label to the plan that says exactly what size it is.

You can also just move your camera outside the terrain and make the terrain thick enough to hide the footing. I also put a dirt texture on the skirt so in elevation it looks like dirt. No mask needed and automatic every time

You also need to send it in to T.S. if you haven't already.
-
Tell us all what that means or provide a pic.

Try this site, it's pretty good for textures, https://brick.com/innovative-online-tools
-
it's in the Preference's / edit section.
-
wallpaper it is, just revert it back to the default material

If the door swings over the stairs--landing needed, if the door swings to the inside, then legal, just to have a typical riser up against the door.
-
Have you tried turning down the ambient occlusion tool, Chief defaults it at 100% , this tool gives some shadows in the corners
-
You can set the resolution in the RT DBX try a higher one.

I remember back a ways, the crosshairs on would slow down things a bit, turn them off and see. Since you didn't say what version you are using, I have no way of knowing.
-
Just check this box

It would be nice if Chief came up with a way to lock specific areas of a plan, from transferring macro's and other things, I know I would post more plans. Maybe just a lock so you couldn't transfer anything. I have a lot of your and other macro's that I have purchased and can't transfer.

For those of us that have to frame it, I guess I would use ceiling planes and beams.
-
If you use a little bit larger filler , you might just get that sink centered on that window.
-
Yes Joe, please post a plan so we can all get all your macro's for free.

I would build the railing getting your newels with the correct spacing, then add the full height posts and beam manually.
