  1. I use a back clipped cross section and only extend it across 1 truss and get a clean look.
  2. THE OUTLETS are now surface mounted so any outlet will attach to a cabinet or a wall. You can also rotate it in 3d for horiz.
  3. Learn to use Anno-sets, that will change your cad layer to whatever you want.

  6. , if available for your version. You can also just use the straight deck edge tool--no railing
  7. Many years ago we have asked for sloping decks. Chief just doesn't do that yet. I have done a roof plane but then you have to do a workaround for the railing. Right now we just have to handle this with cad details
  8. the railing wall with the newels, set them to "0" width and place using the post tool or p-solids.

  11. for me the face brick should be a deferent than the box or chimney brick material b/c it always is.. . I always have to move the fireplace as far back in the wall as possible and use p-solids for the face and hearth.
  12. When you remodel older homes, these are pretty standard and I will have something like this in every job I draw and Chief has not updated this tool since I've been around , almost 14 years now.. Chimneys have always been a p-solid and manually done.
  13. You could also create a Manual. slab for that , just use the slab footing tool, then place the slab anywhere you want

  17. I don't use Chief's PDF printer, print straight to Adobe and I always print in color but be careful on what colors you use b/c using color off is greyscale, which color you use will matter, try to use a darker color and not use any light colors unless you want to have a light gray color or just use a light gray for those. You can test your colors by using the color off icon to see what it looks like in greyscale.
  18. For me, when looking at a whole 24 x 36 page it looks light, and a bit of greyscale but when I print them, they come out just fine. I have Adode pro DC.
  19. I wish that was the way down here but it's unfortunate that won't work in this area, they want a stamp on everything and that's what I have do for 40 years now.
  20. Why don't you just state the city you are in, it would make it a lot simpler
  21. what about beam calc's and I can't remember the last time any city accepted -- without calc's most of the jobs I do are not anything standard.
  22. as you know at least around here everything need a stamp, they won't take my word in place of a stamp on the plans. Must also include calculation's on every job..
  23. The bonus catalog has some ridge vent s there, not sure about home designer
