Break the invisible wall at that point
-
Thanks guys, nice work, IMO Chief should make this easy for everyone, I've been doing it manually for 10 years now. I think you have something here.
-
I understand that but I only want the grade to show in the underfloor area not everywhere. I usually have my grade lines at 200 line weight. The sections look bad but the elevations look great showing the grade on. I still have to draw my own I guess.
-
As we all know the pier tops need to be 8" above the grade line, yet no grade line ever, at least where we want it. I really wish chief could show us a grade line at the correct height we want it. Right now I just manually draw 1 pier block it and copy exactly where I want it shown, then unblock it or it won't show in 3d. or section/ elevation views. also manually draw in each grade line.

What's the difference between a floor joist and a beam?
DRAWZILLA replied to dshall's topic in General Q & A
You can also break any floor joists anywhere you want to by just drawing a bearing line anywhere on the plan. -
Upgrading To Chief Architect Premier From Home Designer
DRAWZILLA replied to rv4life's topic in General Q & A
I would say upgrade if its your business of course Chief is really designed for residential but a lot of people here do commercial drawings. If you really learn all Chief has to offer, you can do anything. -
Ok, but I always want framing, even in soffits.
-
Joe, there would be no ceiling framing if it's a countertop.

I have always had min linewights set to 18 and go up from there. if you want to gray them out they will still print as long as you make them on the darker gray side.

DRAWZILLA replied to AdeSmith's topic in General Q & A
Just turn those things off in your layerset. or set your glass to be non-see through here. -
Hey, maybe I could drop some poundage with more clicks, ok Chief, forgot about less clicks.
-
You could try to import the user lib again.

Skylight Symbol - Roof Accessories Schedule
DRAWZILLA replied to Joe_Carrick's topic in Symbols and Content
I think Chief should provide these standard (adjustable) skylights so we don't have to jump through hoops to do it. -
Skylight Symbol - Roof Accessories Schedule
DRAWZILLA replied to Joe_Carrick's topic in Symbols and Content
I have not checked, but I use mostly rectangular. This is pretty standard stuff and really should be included in Chief. Right now I just settle for the flat one, and adjust in elevation for the dome line. -
Skylight Symbol - Roof Accessories Schedule

I wish Chief would also give us the acrylic dome type skylights also, badly needed for a long time. -
Try re-starting.

Is you video card, up to date?

That is the height of the beam itself, not the wall. You could be right, maybe that is what he asked, not sure.
-
You have to save downloads from each new version, but if you call T.S. they should get you back and running.

I have wanted soffit framing for eon's, not just eave soffits, but soffits in the cabinet DBX also.
-
The rail beam will stop at the ceiling or a roof plane ,in a balloon frame condition. Try to change your ceiling height

Yes pressing a button is very hard these days.

Thanks, I now get it. Skimmed his post too quickly. Sometimes I do that.

I've never shown door labels like you want them, but each to their own. It would be nice if you could do it your way if you wanted.

Try reducing recent files to 3 and see if that helps, I know a lot of us like the recent files list and use it all the time, I'm hoping a fix comes very shortly as Chief just can't leave X7 like this and call it a day.
