  1. I don't think Chief did it by itself, without touching the keyboard, will it change, something caused it.
  2. Just dragging it to your desktop automatically unzips it.
  3. What version of Chief are you using? For remodels, I use the "existing cad mask in the background method", and have been for many years. It gives you a cleaner model which is important for everything else you do. the info is here " https://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02208/&sa=U&ei=sA2YVemUL4OvyQTr-pCABg&ved=0CAUQFjAA&client=internal-uds-cse&usg=AFQjCNFi0-sO9XSWNxTyf4cocmtT_XIlZA Maybe you have to drag the plan file to the desktop then open it.
  4. In the texture you can also use the "Blend with color" tool to change the color of any texture
  5. For that, just adjust the floor structure, "opening-no material" to reduce that space by a few inches so they will line up.
  6. Thanks buddy, it nice to know something worked, that's an old Chief trick for old ATI cards
  7. Yes Bill is a very accomplished jokester also. Maybe just having a bad day. He just might be getting us.
  8. I guess I'm lucky, Too bad I didn't get a point also.
  9. Ah-haa, I knew it had to be an ATI card. it's a 4650, that's an old card for sure.
  10. Yes Mick has it right, that is the correct location.
  11. Can't, b/c you do it to yourself. I will sometimes get frustrutated and do it to, like we all do.
  12. Come-on Bill, you can't leave, your my only Alien friend here. Your humor keeps me going. Who else can I talk quantum mechanics with? No negative points here.
  13. Maybe floor to stem wall top is wrong.
  14. you have to delete the existing dims first.
  15. Here it is back at you fixed. I just made the attic above a room and adjusted the floor structure in the room extension abv. juno fixed.zip
  16. Just attach the plan is ok for this problem, and no plan attached. To take a stab at it, is your auto framing all turned on? Try to reset the floor height above to what you want and it should be correct then, by lowering the ceiling below you are also lowering the 2nd floor height. Try to make a habit of working from the top floor down in Chief, just the opposite of what you might think
  17. I use a USB microphone stand always on my desk. I also use it for "Dragon" also to dictate directly into chief when needed for notes. Make sure there is no noise in the room and turn your phone ringer off or it will happen when you least expect it.
  18. Maybe both of his computers have an older video card, looks like a video card problem to me. Also maybe he has older ATI cards, tell him to try turning off the "Hardware edge smoothing in the Preferences/ render DBX. Sometimes that works.
  19. You can also use the new "edit wall layer intersection tool" to have it connect any way you want and adjust each surface to stop wherever you choose.
  20. Say Hi when you drive by.
  21. Drag one of the walls over the top of the other wall, and the wall you drag will become the official wall.
  22. You may have to create a custom panel for that or a symbol.
  23. Hopefully the problems are something we can deal with easily. I can do that, but if the glitch is something that makes Chief un-usable then "Chief we have a problem will be coming your way.
  24. Costa Rica has no codes, permits on a napkin. They use tree branches for rafters,. some homes I've seen has no electrical just conc. block walls.
  25. If you had put those in a text macro, change it once for all instances of that text. Try it, macro's are very easy to make changes even on a job by job basis.
