Is There A Way To Trim/extend P/solids In Elevation View?
DRAWZILLA replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
The easiest thing would be to have a board and batt texture. There are some fake ones around that look ok, but not real. -
Irc 501.3 (I-Joists To Be Sheetrocked)
DRAWZILLA replied to Jay_on_Cape's topic in Building Codes and Compliance
Thanks for the heads -up. It is also in the California code. I don't think anyone is enforcing it here yet. I think the reason is that an I-joists will burn through quicker than a normal 2x floor joists. They will have to make the I-joists plywood thicker to qualify. Now, it's 2 x floor joists for me unless it's going to be sprinkled. -
Why Does Foundation Dbx Change Floor Height?

Exterior Finish Must Be Thick Than Sheathing Or.... Bug Bug Bug
DRAWZILLA replied to dshall's topic in General Q & A
Cant open for some reason -
You could try to break the exterior walls at the connection. Post the plan for an exact answer.
-
you could have just drag the files to your desktop instead of unzipping.
-
Roof will not update in that situation unless you have auto roof turned on. Sometimes you have to use the " transform -replicate" tool to do it manually in the "z" direction.
-
Oh, there has been noise.
-
Mark, I wonder how many people get it?
-
Thanks Joe, I guess the problem was that I was dragging them around instead of using the DBX to do it.
-
The problem is the vents still show on the floor plan. That was my concern
-
Ok I place it on the foundation level but when I try to move it up to the joists bays, they seem to look odd like Scotts post expanding the sides. I am not sure what I'm doing wrong. I really want them to show on the foundation level
-
all on "C" for me also.

Are you printing in grayscale

Area Calculation Diagram - Video Tutorial

I use the paid version of Screencast (100 bucks a year) and never even come close to reaching the limit on the bandwidth. -
It's probably coming to a town near you soon.
-
If I use red it's on the dark side, most of my colors are on the dark side. if I need a light fill type, I just use gray color.
-
I guess the answer is to use a room fill for that situation for now.

Any Videos Or Tutorials On The Layout Revision Table?
DRAWZILLA replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
text wrap in everything is an important thing to have. It would solve a lot of problems -
Scott, I never use solid room fills. I put my interior and exterior walls on separate layers so I can shut the interiors down when I need to like for a 2nd floor plan or a site plan. You can now default your walls to any layer you want, so now I don't have to select them, it's automatic with the new wall defaults.

It's a symbol so change the size there, I also don't like that it looks like it cuts the foundation wall on the foundation plan view. I guess you could change the cad block of that symbol.
-
I print everything in Grayscale, sent to my outside print service, my clients (contractors) just don't want to pay for color, ever. I had to adjust my colors for grayscale.
-
Nice one Scott, I was using your vent symbol until now, automatic S.F. is nice, just change the window sched. name to a "vent Schedule" helps a lot. Maybe we could take a gable vent from the lib and change it somehow

I know it fixed the lag for me but I need my recent files to work correctly.
