Joe's macro's are more involved and much more info, and more Automatic without having to place any p-lines. Some people just can't get their head around that.

Are both walls aligned to the main exterior layer in the wall DBX?
-
I wonder if having always update and the layout open would cover the opening of the each elevation and section. Haven't tried it .

Footing lines clipping at wall intersection
DRAWZILLA replied to michaelgia's topic in General Q & A
Here is a video I did earlier this year, about it not working http://www.screencast.com/t/UMDYTnLkOP -
I never use the floor camera either, don't know why, just don't. I do use the wall camera a lot.
-
Just back that room divider wall up, with the "edit wall layer intersection" tool.

Footing lines clipping at wall intersection

I actually use a reference set to show all the walls in a very light gray color on the foundation plan, very handy and easy to add new footings where needed. -
Footing lines clipping at wall intersection
DRAWZILLA replied to michaelgia's topic in General Q & A
You know a couple versions back we used to be able to drag just the footing to make it wider and longer but for some reason it's gone now, what happened? You could make conc. pads etc. just by reshaping the footing. -
Get Rid of Bad Elevation / Section Lines
DRAWZILLA replied to olyconstruction's topic in General Q & A
A lot of the lines ,but not all, you see will go away when printed to pdf, just look bad when viewing a plan. Try technical illustration for your elevations, that might help a bit. I don't get very many extra lines these days. There is usually something you have done that causes it. -
That is just looking for someone to sue you, I would never do that.
-
Check you color levels, in the printer. Looks like you are out or low on one color, maybe black
-
I hate that, it happens to all of us, we just have to keep plugging along to get it done, you can always charge them extra if its there fault.

looks like concrete, should be lumber

Gray Versus Black Texture Lines In Elevations
DRAWZILLA replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
You can also just lay a p-line mask over the existing or any part of the elevation you want, use a solid white fill and use the transparency setting to get what you want also. Print in grayscale -
I agree it is possible to get what you want if you take the time to set it up in your template plan

Setting up defaults for complicated existing
DRAWZILLA replied to mslewis620's topic in General Q & A
I have been doing this for 30 years, you build up you floor in the floor DBX and it will build it anywhere you have a second floor area but you have no control over the direction of the existing ceiling joists, just fix it in each section. If you have larger and smaller heights, then just adjust the space between top of ceiling joists and the bottom of the floor joists. -
You will also need to do the railing manually adding the volute. here is one volute.calibz

Just laughed my guts out, oops clean up on isle 9

Call ATT and tell them you are switching to another service and you will get your deal back.
-
Who knows what happened, but glad it fixed itself.

It could be the virtual slab acting up. Slabs are made from rooms, until you build a slab you get a virtual one. Just maybe for some reason your plans virtual slabs might be hanging around. Turn off auto slabs and try manually using the slab footing walls to create your foundation. I call my slab rooms, existing slab or new slab, and use the "Slab" reference in the room DBX.

DRAWZILLA replied to zowie123's topic in General Q & A
I haven't seen any of that yet, but willing to learn. -
Yes you did, you were out of the box before Jack was.

DRAWZILLA replied to zowie123's topic in General Q & A
Round Stair railings, bad symbols from Sketchup, etc. can cause slowdowns, Post the plan and see if we also experience the slowdown. -
