For me the square footage price will stand unless you are just doing the exterior walls, than maybe less. I never charge by the hour, people I know want to know a final price up front. Remember if they want a 3d view than you have to do parking ,plants and landscaping. All those things are an extra charge on my books.

I do this a lot, for the floor on the second floor, that way anything on the second floor creates the automatic overbuild or lower ceiling of the existing ceiling joists below. What you show is the only and fastest way I know of how to do it unless you already have it set up in your template plan. Every second floor addition I do has this type of detail. The only problem is if the ceiling joists are going a different direction than the new floor joists, have to manually fix that in the sections by adding some cross boxes. I use the space as a duct space and call it that ,instead of air space. Just copy air gap and change the name

Try changing the louvre size to get more louvre's

Also if you use a balloon frame wall on the first floor wall , it will not show on the 2nd floor.

Part of the reason that Chief won't give a complete list of the new tools is that it is still in testing and Chief doesn't want to get everyone excited with a new tool that just (for lots of reasons)doesn't make it to the final release. I've seen it.

There are some t-bar textures in the lib. You can use those on the ceiling. There is a way but I don't do it-no commercial for me, but I have seen it. search the forum.

Raise the lower roof up ,by using the transform-replicate tool in the + z direction to what you want.

The lines just might go away when you print to "PDF" also.

Something is wrong with your model, post the plan so we can see what's wrong.

I believe the fuzziness is intended, until you print it, then it should be sharp. Reason being ,keep the resolution low until you need it , Chief will run faster that way. Also make you image full size on the screen before you send it. Also don't send as an image the layout, send as current screen. Try to print as "PDF" and see if that helps.

I never take the time to do that b/c no one sees it. I simply handle that with a cad detail of the California tie in.
