Two schedule for same item?

Don't know if you settled yet or gotten enough input to be comfortable. My priorities -quiet, low heat, good cooling, ATX board, good ports in a quality compact case, Wifi, Gigabit Ethernet. I get enough render requests that I wanted a 3000 series card since Chiefs preview indicated they are enough faster than my 2070S to be worth it. For my needs I decided on 3070 as best balance of heat, noise, $$ for me. IF I did less renders a 3060 saves $, more renders a 3080 for extra $$, heat and noise, no way was a 3090 in my sites. Similarly my sweet spot CPU is i7 I ended up at AVBAdirect. I'd never heard of them but was checking all options around. They're worth a look. I started with Desktop, Tower Checked off a few filters, settled configuration, put in cart Then talked with them, (Kyle) was really helpful tweaking the configuration and checking availability of parts.The buying experience was excellent. I have no idea how support or any of the rest will be System delivers in a few weeks. (they do test em as they build em which is critical to me) You can get higher level GPU and/or CPU for less than I spent; either from them or elsewhere (for comparison I configured an i9 , rtx 3080, liquid cooled, 32 GB, 1TB 970 plus, 1TB HDD- at $2400 & then an i7, 3060 for $1800). I looked at systems from $1800 to $4k, 5 custom builders and stock systems from 4 places. I ended up with: Define7 Compact, i7 10700k, EVGA 3070 XC3 ULTRA GAMING, MSI Meg Z490 Ace, Noctua 15, Grizzly Kryonaut, (4) Silent Wings 3, 32GB 3200 Corsair, 1TB 970 Plus M2, 1TB 860 Evo SSD, BeQuiet 11-850w Gold, $3k delivered. Won't really know how I did until beta

While it's possible to do this with a cabinets using a very narrow one at the wall it tends to not be stable, the front clip comes back or the back one goes away if you sneeze. So the fastest way to get a clipped back is to set up cabinet to have clip then convert to symbol. I prefer to have that with no countertop and use a custom counter after placing. I always allow at least 1" filler or extended stile or installers will complain. As to the Recessed Corner sink base. Here's one I made since I have done enough of these to bother. NOTE that the back NEVER ever goes all the way into the corner (all mfg make them like the attached). Attached plan has one as shown, set to use default cabinet/door material, and another that is a block with countertop. There is also a pline of the correct outline of the cabinet. clip cab.plan

GPU and CPU matter more than ram. If Chief runs ok on laptop should be ok on tv though higher resolution will tax GPU. Easy enough to test and in house wireless is the way to go lMO. If your desktop has wireless you canproject that to TV even from another room.

If its a smart tv OR you use a Roku stick the laptop in you signature will work. Windows key + p will bring up the project dialog. Both need to be on same network and set tv to computer. I did this all the time with a 42" tv in the studio.

MFG catalogs are dependant on the MFG. For fixtures they have Brizo, Delta, Kohler, and a couple of bonus catalogs . As to cabinets I seriously doubt we will ever see them in Mfg catalogs, too many but really not needed in the least. Configuring cabinets has gotten so easy, saving config in whole or partial, is now a breeze with style palettes. A lot has happened since X9. FWIW I was a KD and a dealer for 20 yrs and now half my clients are. Chief does just fine.

For ADA cabinets configure cabinets after placing from the build menu. There are no, zip, nada, cabinets in the mfg catalogs; just doors, molding, finishes. There is no LG or American Standard either. You can get individual symbols (usually dwg) from Kohler and GE on their web site or 3D warehouse (skp or dae). Some other brands the same way.

From what I can tell pcie4 makes a small difference now but I think I want that going forward. I asked Curt about them as he's on his second system from them a 2020 Intel with a 2000 series GPU

Use a double door instead of two doors. In (the rare) situations where you must use two doors make it a "blank area" that is equal in width to your reveal.

That's because the panel doesn't go all the way through the door. You would have to use a 5 pc MDF door from them.

Settings -ft in.de Chief translates to current default dimension setting, laser set to 0 1/8 (most of the time) Well basically it's a more complete tool (and Al Frey suggested it :) Switched as soon as I started to get more whole house as builts ... Camera and Long Range when outside Trapezium, without tripod, for slopes inside Sloped Objects (on tripod) is easier to position for roof pitches outside Height Profile can be handy for down and dirty terrain, don't use as much can be a bit tricky but handy if really need something. Note- I still haven't gotten either their tripod or attachment but with a little care the tripod functions work on a normal tripod. Maybe when Covid is done and doing more field measures will get one.

Could also make a quick simple plan from OOB template; with a garage and doors where it works just fine (see image). Then check all settings looking for differences. I do this often when I get something wrong. Can be time consuming and frustrating but it's a bit more instructive in the long run for learning where to look.

Short answer to all your questions is Yes you can and there is. 1- read about wall types and defaults (defaults are important overall); 2 dimension defaults, 3- layout page numbering search the help or (pg 999 in the reference manual) For all 3 go to main Chief website, user center, getting started resources. There are the quick start videos, other videos, knowledge base and might be a good idea to download the Reference Manual (which almost matches the built in Help -press F) and could give the Tutorial Guide a try too.

The plan you posted lists a missing PDF for Approved Septic (highlingted) It does not show that a CAD file was imported- at least I don't find one. Did you import the converted DWG file? the PDF will not automagically change in the plan.This is with all layers on and I don't see any funny CAD layers which is common I would use an end to end dimension to check rather than a line. Post your DWG. Print2CAD does but there are always issues converting raster to vector they get messy. I prefer PDF2 CAD but don't remember if that does converts raster (used to have it but got this PDF2CAD at some point -it's ok, not all that happy with all the spam they send.)

Even with left or righr arrow? Been a while since I had the X3 but don't recall that problem. I do remener that I had to upgrade firmware when I first got it, maybe that?

Did you try using up arrow to select the setting icon at top? OR just keep hitting the right arrow key which also switches on mine. User manual says you should have this

Using a 7500 but had an X3 and think that setting is the same. It is set first in the laser itself. Function, select the gears, , unit, first page first column shows what you are getting, second column is inches and franctions,..up arrow to get to second page 2nd page first column is metric, second column is decimal ft, in, yd. I use first page second column 0 1/8 unless it's really fussy then 1/16th, Chief will convert it to the format set in current dim default if you are sending it by bluetooth.

Not just the large OEMs, all of the smaller custom builders also have a selection RTX 3000 cards, availability of specific models varies a little from vendor to vendor in case that's your preferance. They then vary by cases etc.

Short answer is no. I haven't done any work on this as I don't personally need it, non of my clients are asking for it. If only one client wanted pricing I'd be doing it one of the ways I did my own when I was a kitchen dealer. For my work I used a schedule copied to a spread sheet. Either drag and drop from that to an online ordering system (15 minutes) OR if that was not available for the brand set up a spreadsheet template that was an order form. With a little manipulation data from the schedule is pasted into the the spreadsheet template populating all but globals, individual prices and number of doors. A typical order took me 15-30 minutes (stuff on doing that posted in either tips and tricks or symbols back around X10 maybe X9) I did also start looking into looking up pricing from a CSV once in the spreadsheet which is likely easier to do. (and adjust if needed) The perfect system, that would load price into a schedule, was just a good will project for I was messing with since people seem to think they need cabinet pricing and I wanted to try to put it out there. NOTE I was working with pricing into the schedule not the ML and yes I got that to work more or less. (NOTE that for me it was imperative to also price modifications, just cabinets is much easier). Just had to do some work with hashes/arrays to bring in pricing for modifications. Problem is that I'm not all that proficient with Ruby so if I leave it alone for long it's like starting over (bad case of halfheimers/CRS) The other problem is getting a full CSV file for a cabinet line. I approached several Mfg at KBIS with no success, even for a couple of my clients. Suggested that they look into it, never happened. As to using the material list for accessing a CSV; back when I first undertook this, end of X11 going into X12 I think, I was out at the user group that year. In the advanced class one of the Chief folks (Chirs Armstrong) showed something he had been working on with the material list to pull window pricing from a CSV. I sat down with him for my one on one to go over a few things. In the long run that turned out to have a problem too. The issue with that could be overcome by lowering -Preferences, Ruby, Safe level. That is something I was not going to deal with and then pass it on. I have not seen anything from Chief on this since. Between relocating, work, pandemic, a new version on the horizon and playing nurse Ratchet for the near future to missus with knee replacement this week I'm not going to get near it. Already have a lengthy "want to do" list that is more relevant for me. It's still on my list but way down there right now. IF I were serious about doing this for my own work and didn't want to spend forever (which I already have) doing it. I would either look into one on one training for it with Chief OR get in touch with Michael (Alaskan Son) who is a wiz with this stuff. In either case you will want to put together a very accurate and clear list of what you need for results.

With a little fiddling this works on anything at all so long as the edge you want to add molding to is straight. Select hood in plan, convert to symbol, cabinet door, change the Y origin. Place cabinet correct width and height of hood, depth of cabinet to be where you need the molding The sides and back as openings, seperations at 0" Find the CAD block for the hood and insert door and insert into plan view.
