  1. I can not unzip this file to look at it. He may not have had Chief closed when he zipped it.
  2. Newell, I'll try to call you later today to see if you figured it out...or maybe I'll send you an email.
  3. Newel, why don't you just create your site plan and plan view all in one plan? This is how I do it. I use an anno set that is associated with a site plan layer set with defaults set as I need for a site plan. It makes this very easy.
  4. Use a molding polyline and add as many rails as you want and space them as you need all on one polyline.
  5. There are a couple of ways to do it but one way is to draw a rectangular polyline and shape it to the area you want to move. Once done, then select the polyline, go to edit>edit area (visible if needed), then in the edit toolbar, select transform/replicate and move it in the direction you want it to go and click okay (don't copy though). Not totally sure what you want to move.
  6. Enabling environmental lighting will probably fix it as mentioned.
  7. Just curious as to why you need such a high resolution for a texture? What is the texture? Have you tried using a much lower resolution and see if it makes a difference in Chief?
  8. This has been happening for many versions which I why I personally don't use them.
  9. I have always felt that one on training is the best. I was fortunate to have Louis Fernandez teach me the program one on one for quite a while ( I was also working for him). This was back in versions 8, 9, and 10. One on one allows you to stop and ask a question at any time. Your mind can only soak up so much information at one training session. one key is practice, practice, practice.
  10. Why don't you download the trial version and try it?
  11. We have an online meeting Saturday, Aug 6, 2016 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm (Central Time). If you would like to attend, then please send me an email using my email address shown in my signature. Feel free to call me if you need more information or questions. I think I'll go over the basics of making manual dormers.
  12. I've been helping Becky and she's doing okay. Yea Becky! BTW, very pleasant person.
  13. Text for anything in plan views. Rich text for plan titles and certain plan notes.
  14. Angela, if you don't get it figured out, call me or email me at my email address below in my signature and I'll walk you through it online.
  15. I generally consult the engineer as soon as I see something in question or if I feel the engineering could run up the cost of the job so I can let the builder or homeowner know before I proceed. Sometimes engineering what a builder or homeowner wants could get expensive depending on the situation.
  16. You can use beam charts like I do but really, you need to consult with an Engineer. With one of the engineers we use, I put in what should work according to the chart but the engineer makes the final decision since he's signing off on the structural. Some of the engineers, I just send DWGs and let them do it for they supply all structural.
  17. I do it exactly like this too. I also have symbols I made for the center panels when needed.
  18. Joey, I'm thinking about July 6th (Saturday) from 1:00pm to 3:00pm central time.
  19. Junior, I used the same symbols in a plan and they're all the same size. It looks like you modified the cad blocks right?
  20. Katrina, I just sent a PM with my cell phone number to you but forgot to put my name. I see I have to wait a little bit before I can send another one. I'll do it in a little while.
  21. Katrina, maybe I can help. I would be interested in talking to you. I'm in Houston Texas and will take calls between 8:30am to 9:00pm (central time). My email is below in my signature as wells as my phone number.
  22. I normally use a solid or slab to cover it and put it on a layer so you can turn it off in plan view.
  23. Newel, I sent your plan back to you with the attic walls fixed. I edited the wall.
  24. Bill, if you're dragging your walls up, don't do that. Raise the floor up for the bay window in the room dbx. Side note: you may want to change the floor thickness.
