Those are temporary points generated when you select a roof plane. Go to the points parent tool and you'll see that you can delete temporary points.
  2. As you see, there's generally more than one way to do things in Chief.
  3. I use polyline solids in an elevation. This eliminates this problem.
  4. Oh yea, I'm showing her 3 different ways to approach this. Modo555, if you can't figure it out, send me an email (email below) and I'll show you what Eric is talking about.
  5. This is funny. I'm doing an online meeting this afternoon showing a girl how to do this very thing.
  6. I do my water connections different now in X9. I use the new niche tool in X9. Size it and place it where I want. I created a new "symbol" that I use. I place the symbol in the plan, set the height off the floor and control drag it into the niche. The symbol shows in the plan view so no cad block representation is needed. I attached the X9 library if anyone is interested in using this method. Side note: In the library for the symbol, I have the box dimensions shown that I use but any box size could be used. 7. You can contact me if you like (my email and phone is below). It sounds like I draw pretty much the way you want. I can explain what I do and yes, it's all about using annotation sets.
  8. I believe I got those from 3D Warehouse several years ago. Not sure though.
  9. Wendy, I've had these home generators for several years. Don't know if it will help. Home Generators.calibz
  10. In X8, if you make a room, place a base cabinet, then go to the library, select and place a GFCI outlet over the cabinet, Chief will by default, place the outlet at 42" which is above the cabinet. In X9, if you do the same thing, Chief will NOT place the GFCI outlet from the library above the base cabinet. It would be nice if this could be fixed in the next update so we don't have to take extra steps or at least make it work like it did in X8.
  11. It appears that I was right. I see it was fixed in the new update I did this morning. See update 2.13 Doors. Just tried in the program and the problem is now fixed.Thank you Chief,
  12. It's fascinating to see what can be done with this program!
  13. Okay, this is a test that I did. All based on an 8' wide garage door. I never use the default out of box default profile plan that comes with Chief (Profile.plan). I usually bring a profile plan forward one time. Every two versions, I create a new profile plan. In the example below, I open a plan, go to My Documents>Chiefs data folder>templates>Profile.plan>open. Using an X8 default profile plan (Profile.plan): Place an exterior door>make it 8' wide>make it a garage door. By default, it will show 4 vertical panels, BUT if you go to the library for garage doors and select the carriage CHD04 door, the vertical panels automatically changes by default to 1 panel. Using an X9 default profile plan (Profile.plan): Do the same thing. The only difference is that when you go to the library to change the door to a CHD04 door, the vertical count stays at 4 and doesn't default to 1 like it did in X8. This is what I found. BTW, I never noticed this setting before in previous versions which was obviously there.
  14. Thank you Jonathan & Michael, setting to one panel is the answer. This is a new setting in X9. Solver, It wouldn't matter which door I used for they would all be wrong depending on the numbers of panels chosen. Also just so you know, by default, it was set at 4 panels which is what through me off.
  15. I'll try it. Just fixing to upload an image
  16. In X9, just tried using the carriage doors ( glass across top) for an 8' or 9' wide garage door. It doesn't work right AT ALL. Even my custom garage doors with glass don't work. THIS ALL WORKED FINE IN X8 and still does. Am I missing something?
  17. By default, it is 1" to 1" for the layout.
  18. Lew, Your Drawing Scale in the "Drawing Sheet Setup" for the layout should be set to 1" =1" so that when you send a plan view or anything else to the layout at a particular scale, it will be correct.
  19. I don't think it's an X9 issue because it did the same thing in previous versions of Chief back to X6. Didn't try going further back. What I can say is that when I opened this file in AutoDesk DWG TrueView 2017, it went straight to the plan. I used to have this problem years ago when importing certain dwgs and had to do what you suggest. In recent versions, Chief says that now dwgs are imported to 0"0" by default now so I didn't really even think about it. This tells me now that when I run into this problem again, I know that I still have to hunt for it. I've given this tip about finding things in plans many years ago in our User Group but haven't had to do this in a long time. I guess that's what I get for thinking. What I normally do in this situation is find the damn thing then select all of it and copy/paste into a new plan and all is good when you open it. I never spend the time trying to find the other item. Thank you again. I should have thought of this since I used to do it years ago.
  20. Thank you Michael. I've done this before but never had one that far out. I guess that's what threw me.
  21. WOW! Thank you so much. I don't know what you did or what was the problem but it WORKS! Thank you, Thank you!
  22. If I open it with AutoDesk DWG TrueView 2017, this is what I get which is what I need in Chief (in cad).
  23. Yea, I'm kinda confused because when I import it, I import it using the ACAD layers. When I open the layer display, I see the the ACAD layers are there and show being used but I see nothing.
