  1. Good Info thanks Scott , I had not explored that far either..... M.
  2. Did you check 3D Warehouse for what you need ? https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/search/?q=commercial kitchen equipment&searchTab=model
  3. The Section Views may not look correct either as you are actually changing the Framing etc. In this particular situation at least , I did what I see now Eric suggested too, and used a Room Divider and simply set the Floor structure to 430mm and locked the Floor top....the exterior Cladding will always build to the bottom of the floor platform by default so it looks good in most views.... you likely need to play with the framing ( i didn't in pics) especially if this is truly cantilevered? (no Posts)
  4. Eric is right PDF's are a PITA just use the Windows Snipping Tool (accessories) and attach the image Directly after saving it on your desktop 1.) the location of the Wall Dim is determined by the wall's main layer and which side is it's main side ( ie what is considered the exterior side) which is indicated by the square edit handle when the wall is selected at it's mid point. 2.) is an overall Dim ( note the arrows only on each end ) you can add dim location points by dragging off the diamond and placing it on the point you want located ...if there is a diamond to drag otherwise you could add a manual point to point dim too. check this video for the use of the diamond.... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/5432/editing-dimensions-and-extension-lines.html?playlist=92 3.) Line A is the same as the outer line to it's left it appears, typically CA will only give 3 lines off Dim. automatically line the other sides of the building so I am not sure if A is one you drew manually? if so it is properly just the wrong type , eg you used point to point instead of a Running or Baseline Dim. M.
  5. Guess I missed that Tip too , I have always shaped the wall previously as Scott mentioned..... M.
  6. The Rate this Topic 5 Star Icon is still there on the left under the Topic Starter's Username , but the User/Member list has been gone a While, though there is a Online User list on the light gray bar at the Top, though that's not the Same as a "Members" Bar and isn't any good unless they are online. M.
  7. Thanks CS, I had forgotten about Doug's Double wall method ( Deck built with invisible Walls and railing wall outside those walls ) and was only remembering the invisible Layer to force the Posts outside the Rim Joist , and each time I pulled the wall off the Corner I lost the Deck room ( and thus deck) and only remembered the old fudge with a room divider which is really finicky.
  8. Once turned on you also need to add you Signature , with Name, SW (X10? X9?) and some computer specs can help at times , once done it is always there See mine below in Blue for how to do that or If you don't see my Signature then you have them turned off for the Forum so you need to Toggle it on by going to the Upper RH Corner of this Forum Window and Clicking on your Username and making sure Signatures are enabled (green) and then Add your Own Sig. too : UserName> Account > Signatures M.
  9. Hmmmm interesting info...... I made my own Alum. fascia mounted Newel Post (with mounting plate) and have been playing with it ...has anyone found a way to get two posts on a Corner yet ? typical of Alum. Rails ...or any rail if fascia mounted...
  10. Looks like that works nicely Chopsaw , I guess if you offset the 2x4 block the spacing doesn't work? I ask as the "block" shows in Vector view..... Steve, CS has a stretch plane on the Z axis at 31" and it seems to adjust to any height I've tried ( check his symbol above) M.
  11. Chief tends to import material at a set size eg 6" x 6" image or 20" x 20" ( check the Materials's texture Tab ) and make the size what you know it to be in the Image file used....... You may also have issues if you are not using seamless textures with the "repeat" especially in Fabrics , so you would need to be careful making those material's seamless textures. M.
  12. You maybe able to get close by blending the Texture Colour with the Material Colour on the General Tab of the Stucco Material but I don't think you can use the SW Colour that way? But doesn't Painting the wall , keep the Texture ? ( painting exterior Walls is generally not recommended but maybe the only way in this case...) *** painting it does work..... M.

    Downspouts

Chief MEP No#2 Library has some.... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/3d-library/index.php?r=site/detail/638 I think someone posted one in the Symbols Forum too ....maybe Rich?
  14. I think it is the thread I linked to above Glenn..... unless you elaborated further in another Post?
  15. Try Jared he is in Tacoma https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/profile/314-jbaehmer/
  16. Like CS , i would suspect a Electrical Schedule is in a CAD Detail too or on a Level you haven't looked on in Plan, since this usually (only?) happens if two schedules are reporting the Callouts do you have one perhaps in your Template Plan in a CAD Detail so it is always there
  17. Yes nobody on HT will see your Question here and the procedure is Different in HD Pro than Chief Premier but there is a Tutorial for Pro too https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00752/creating-a-structure-that-is-built-on-piers.html Same Password over on HT , just add the HD 2019 to your Sig. so people know what you are using ...it's important as each version of HD has different capabilities and that effects how you can do things , though Pro has alot of Premier feature so some Premier Tutorials will help you. M.
  18. Ahhh .... okay that would explain it..... X5 was the earliest Version I saw , HD Pro before that which doesn't have layersets .... Thanks for the Layerset download , appreciate it. Might be a good one to Add to the Tips Forum David , so it doesn't get lost in this Thread... M.
  19. There is a Tutorial in the KB about doing Elevated Structures , that maybe a good point to start at at least.... *** the Tutorial was done in 2015 (so not in X10) and a few things have changed eg Floor1 defaults is now under Floors and Rooms>Current Floor and Normal Room Defaults is now just Floor and Ceiling Platform*** I am not familiar with detailing breakaway walls etc as we do not do it here , have a look at this Tutorial : (use the Tools Dropdown (green) on the right if you prefer a PDF) https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01027/creating-an-elevated-structure-on-pilings.html Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in, especially with the Software Version, and of course a real Name is nice too .............. See mine below in Blue for how to do that. If you don't see my Signature then you have them turned off for the Forum so you need to Toggle it on by going to the Upper RH Corner of this Forum Window and Clicking on your Username and making sure Signature are enabled (green) and then Add your Own Sig. too : UserName> Account > Signatures M.
  20. I am not familiar with that. I am not either , and don't think I have ever seen it , maybe one you made years ago David ? M.
  21. Is it the Tutorial Guide you are working through? or a specific Tutorial in the KB ? (Knowledge Base) https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/documentation.html
  22. It's likely the Order things are done in , like me un-checking the Hang on wall button 1st , now it won't correct if don't do that too Just Another Chief Architect Mystery (JACAM)
  23. Yes but you can/did draw foundation walls manually under it .... On the Structure Tab make sure to uncheck monolithic slab foundation or the section view will look ugly... Auto Porch foundations were an upgrade in X10 but I am not sure they work in all circumstances?
  24. If the Room is labelled as a Porch I get the siding still on the edge of the Floor , if it is labelled a Patio I don't note: CA always brings the siding down to the bottom of the Floor platform ...whatever it is.... not sure if a "Patio" causes other issues though....
